What on earth to buy little ones who have all the toys/books in the world from older siblings?

I have two little people to buy for, boy is nearly 5 and girl is 18mo. They have older siblings so have a house full of books and toys for all ages. Am totally stuck. They have everything.

A tenner each. They are children of very very good friends so want it to be good, thoughtful present. Am finding the older kids easier to buy for.

Thanks!

Could you get the five year old one of those personalised books with their name in? Might work for the younger one too?

bit pricey for your budget but this is the sort of thing though too young for five year old boy

I'm dashing out so haven't been able to find out if you are too late to get some but generally a personalised thing might be that bit more special for younger siblings perhaps?

Personalised cutlery is my go-to present in this situation. Something that's definitely theirs, and is useful!

I would buy pyjamas with their favourite character on.

Or a craft kit for the 5 year old, as they don't tend to get handed down!

What if you buy the whole family a board game, then each child a little santa chocolate or something?

What about craft things/kits - those get used up instead of passed down.

Also, its still nice, even if you are child #4 or whatnot, to get your own new toys sometimes - even if there are lots of hand-me-downs about.

thanks for the ideas... I think personalised must be the way to go. I love the idea of a board game for them all but what could be suitable for kids from 18mo to 9yrs? any ideas? Obv the 18 mo will have to grow into that but anything she won't have to wait too long to join in?

Clothes? Like socks, pants, hats etc. H&M are good. It's lovely to get new clothes for the youngest children in the family - esp things like socks and pants which always seem to get trashed by older siblings!

As the mother of a 5 yo ds and 2 yo dd, i love the idea of personalised cutlery. Or even really nice non-ikea cutlery.

I've heard this is good www.fatbraintoys.com/toy_companies/education_outdoors_inc/camp_board_game.cfm

Remember with younger kids they can "team up" with a parent or older sibling for various board games.

Other games I remember playing with my parents and older sibling.....Trouble, Sorry! Parcheesi....I saw one at the store and thought it looked like great fun for a wide age range www.amazon.com/Pallina-Bamboo-Sticks-Balls-Game/dp/B0042RVNFI
