Do presents have to be equal?

Just sorting everything I've bought to finish wrapping..

DNeice has a set of nail art stuff, a book and a dress.

DNephew has a pellet gun. (Asked for) It cost just as much but looks rubbish next to his sisters stuff.

Other DNephew has a tick tock croc, 3 books, pjs and a board game.

His brother has where's wally books.

My teenage brother has booking Mormon tickets, 2 dvd boxsets, ski socks & hat and x box points, whereas my older brother has monopoly Confused

Even my own DD's have about £400 difference between the
two of them... Though one is only 6 months.

Should I buy more and even it all out?

They have to be perceived as being equal, which can be trickier Xmas Grin

No, it doesn't matter!!!

Especially with the 6 month old.

I Don't really worry about price difference (as long as it's not £100's difference). I always get them the same amount of presents tho. Saying that they are only 6&3, so I can see in the future as the things they like get more expensive, that this may change.

I agree with blue, it is the perceived value of the gifts. I try and hunt out bargains anyway, but I always do a visual check to make sure that the gifts seem relatively equal in terms of value.

Depends on age. If they're little then they need the same number of things to open, if they're teenagers then the cost needs to be about equal. If they're adults you don't have to be equal.
