I'm 39 weeks pregnant and despite all my best efforts, haven't finished the christmas shopping yet (i know!)
Our problem is what to get DHs sisters and their DH's. DH is no help (never has a clue what to get and is currently working all the overtime he can before baby gets here so I can't send him to the shops), MIL is no help (just says she gives them money, which I'm not happy doing as I don't like giving money to adults and our budget is fairly small, and my rationale is that you can hide that better if you get a present iyswim).

They aren't really into anything in particular (no hobbies), don't wear make up or use much in the way of nice smellies, not really into fashion. I suggested cinema vouchers since they do like films but MIL put the kybosh on that idea by complaining that she'd have to babysit.

Joint presents for them and their DH's would be a bit easier (for me!) so any inspiration would be a huge help since I'm banging my head against a brick wall here - asking them what they want didnt help either! At this rate they'll get nowt and that will open up a huge can of worms.

Netflix/LoveFilm or similar subscription? Films in comfort of their own home so no mil issues!
Good luck x

Ooh good thinking angelwhip - that would definitely suit one of them and I'm pretty sure they don't already have that. The other sister is more difficult - they go to the pictures as is the only thing they like to do I they go out but they don't really watch films in the house.
Still, one down one to go, thanks!

Nice coffee, nice tea, cheese biscuits and cheese.
Or posh olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Or wine.

the more awkward one is totally not a foodie - eats to survive rather than enjoying it iyswim, and rarely drinks. However remus everything you listed sounds like perfect gifts for me so maybe I'll get them for myself!

:) Are they staying at home for Christmas? How about ordering them a lovely winter bouquet? I was given one last week and it has really cheered up the lounge (refuse to put the Christmas tree up until at least mid December!).

If they like going to the cinema, what about a subscription to Empire magazine?

www.cineworld.co.uk/mobile/offers/283

Cineworld Christmas box for £20 you get x2 adult tickets, vouchers for x 2 drinks, x 2 galaxy chocs & x1 popcorn which comes in a box that you can wrap.

BobCrotchstitch · 08/12/2013 20:12

Yes, Netflix subscription, a couple big bags of popcorn, tin of sweets and maybe a fleecey blanket or something else cosy. All wrapped up nicely in a cardboard box hamper and marketed as "a night in hamper" Xmas Grin

If they've got a garden, how about a bee house and some wildflower seeds?
