Seeking inspiration - what has anyone bought for school staff? Need to order this weekend and can't think what to get.

Thanks

I'm getting ours a £5 voucher each for Costa in a card DC have made. I figure even if they don't like coffee they can get a cake/sandwich Smile

Some nice biscuits/chocs from M and S and a scarfy thing I knitted. Nothing OTT.

If you knew the HT and they have a SOH, would you buy them this? Or a step too far?

bumping for an opinion on the mugGrin

The coffee gift card is an excellent idea!

Both my DCs have teachers who job share, plus TAs, so it adds up to 8 presents Shock. I have bought some of the small 'taster selections' from Hotel Chocolat, which I hope don't look too stingy! Might get the kids to make something little to go with them if there's time this weekend.

I bought dd's teachers and TA'a the stacking Santa tin filled with chocolates from M&S when they were half price and then coupled it with dd's staff discount so they were about £4.
Dd will make these and attach them to the gift tag.

Between my DC's teachers, TAs, violin tutor, and sports coaches we needed 11 gifts! Even at a cost of £5 each it was going to be too much so I bought some little colour-in-yourself gift boxes off amazon for £3ish for a pack of 12 (also kept the DC entertained for an afternoon making them) then filled them with chocs from a big tin of quality street for £4 in Lidl. They also wrote individual cards to go with them.

Scarves.

Sorry, I don't like the mug and wouldn't appreciate one myself.

JumpingJetFlash · 13/12/2013 10:48

I always buy the teachers/TAs some funky warm socks as part of their Christmas pressies - I don't know if they like them but they were my favourite present ever from one of my class and so I spread the cheer lol!!!

Pretty felt christmas decorations for teachers. Music teachers have pens/pencil with musical notes on.

2 teachers and 2 TAs here. Have bought each an individual Alternative Mince Pie from hotel chocolat, and a joint gift of charity train a teacher.

Dont like the mug either but dislike swearing and its certainly not suitable to be used in a school.

Lots seem to like wine or chocolates. In the past we have done scarves, body shop, perfume, jewellery etc.

Personally dont like charity gifts as i think its a personal thing. I dont support a lot of charties and no over seas ones. They are more for the giver than the receiver.

I did a drinks hamper hamper last year as a shared present, nice coffee & tea bags some hot chocolate sachets and chocolate coffee beans thought it would be useful in the staff room.

dd wanted to make the gifts this year she was going to make a body scrub but is now doing chocolate candy cane hearts, just a token really.

I now work in the kitchen at a school and am wondering if any kind soul passes chocolates our way, had to look longingly at the chocolate goodies in the teachers staff room today but they didn't offer to share Wink
