Wrapping presents, how neat?

I'm a bit obsessive about wrapping presents, I have striped paper this year so it can be lined up perfectly, I always fold over exposed edges of the paper and make the folded parts as beat as possible, all the tags are perfectly straight and the bows have to be in exactly te right position above the tag.
All the gifts have to match and all have to be just right, they don't even go under the tree they're hidden till Christmas morning then each person gets a pile.
I get twitchy if they're not right. I even wrap my own presents so they're done right.
Mil-sil-Dh etc just think as long as the paper covers the gift it's fine! I now wrap mils presents too!

I'm not alone in this am I?
How neatly are your present wrapped?

I do similar to you, folding over edges and so on. Also used double sided sticky tape for adult and/or special gifts so the sellotape doesn't show on the outside.

Honestly, I can't be arsed. No one will look at the wrapping on any of the presents for more than a second. I used to do my mums present with ribbons but she is unaware of such things now

My wrapping isn't that neat. We have Santa paper, kids paper and grown ups paper. The tags are left over from last year though so not entirely matching. And I forgot bows. But hey, it's not the wrapping that's important, it's the sentiment!

And I have a lot of presents to wrap, the dcs sacks, and tree presents. Present for dh, dad, bro, many more family members and in laws.

Our tags are made from last year's Xmas cards. They're great but if they match anything it's only coincidence!

Depends who the gift is for. I don't spend hours wrapping gifts for the kids, just sling some paper round them and fasten with a bit of tpe because they dont notice the wrap and wouldnt care if they did. Gifts for other people get a more professional finish because the wrapping is part of the package iyswim.

I like to wrap with bows and ribbon and something attached if possible, like a little Christmas bauble.

I don't think not doing it perfectly means you don't care about it looking nice though. It's just a different way of doing it - I honestly think cheerful multicoloured paper and cut up card gift tags look just as nice as brown paper packages tied up with candy canes etc. And there is the fact that it all just ends up in the bin, I think using masses of ribbon etc is a bit wasteful.

When I lived in Dubai I used to hire a couple of the lads that did the gift wrap at Hamleys in the mall. They could wrap a rocking horse.

They'd turn up armed with tape, I'd supply the paper and bows and ribbon and it was all done and beautifully wrapped in a few hours.

This is my first Christmas back in England .. Eek
