...what is it if there is one? Should my DC get his key worker a bigger present than the other couple of rotating play workers or Nursery Manager or is it a case of equity being the best policy. OR should I just get a 'hamper' of edibles to be shared amongst all the staff (i.e including the playworkers who have never really been responsible for my son?)

Needless to say this is my first experience of the matter (PFB) and I'm very a bit Xmas Confused and probably over thinking it but it's a great place and my son's very happy there however I also don't want to go overboard. TIA

Ooh I was wondering the same thing. I was going to go down the hamper route, fingers crossed someone with a bit of experience comes along soon Smile

It all sounds so complicated these days! I would be tempted to do a nice box of chocs or biscuits for the whole team I think. How many kids are they in the nursery? if everyone gave the staff a gift thats an awful lot! I think people maybe over think these things. A handmade card from the child for any important staff members a box of something for the group to share as they please gets my vote ;)

I worked at a preschool and some families got us Christmas gifts. It varied really from getting a gift each for every staff member or a box chocs for all staff to share. Anything is greatfully received though not in any way expected

Glad it's not just me draw Xmas Wink

Luggage16 thanks for your views. Yes DS will be making cards.

For clarification. I won't be getting any BIG presents Xmas Grin , please supplant 'bigger' for a more thoughtful/special/or an extra 'thing'

Bake them a cake. Always well received. Cards for any special member of staff.

I've wrapped a shoe box in Xmas paper & filled it with the following items to share in the staff room:
Tea bags
Coffee bags
Hot choc
Biscuits
Chocs
Mince pies

The first year ds was at nursery, I got the staff in his room a small present each - a mug with some hot chocolate.

This year dd is also at the nursery so I've got a small gift for their key workers and a tub of chocolates for the rest.

I get DC to write a card 'To All the Grown Ups at x' and give them sweets/chocolates/biscuits to share. That way I don't accidentally leave out the cleaner/caretaker/office staff etc etc.
