Are they worth it?

No

They are far too heavy for your average 2yo, and my DD actually asked me to take the batteries out to stop it crying.

The First baby annabels are ok (with no functions). We have no less than three function dolls, all of which the DDs have had the batteries removed from at different times, by their request.

DD has had her Baby Annabell since she was 3, is now nearly 7 and loves her more than ever! She even gets a present at Christmas!
That said, she didn't play with her that much to begin with and we definitely could have waited a year.

DD(4) loves hers and when she first got it delighted in making her cry REAL TEARS MUMMY. She is less bothered by that now but still loves her. They are heavy though. Unless you have been particularly asked for one I would opt for a cheaper lighter one myself.

It depends on the child, I think (helpful!). Baby Annabel has been my 4.3 year old daughter's absolute favourite ever since she arrived for her 3rd birthday. Not so interested in the crying etc (in fact the batteries have gone and we've lost the back bit too) but she loves the size of her and is just generally smitten. She is generally a big fan of babies and baby dolls though so I'm not sure it's Annabel per se.

I bought it, on offer for 29.99 today so no great shakes if she doesn't like it. Got the boy version too x
