panettone is much lighter though. I saw a 1kg panettone in a really lovely tin in Costco for £8 but didn't buy it.
Similar in John Lewis was £15 Shock

(I'm going to brave Costco again this week so I may just have to buy one [tchgrin] )

Just looked at the Nigella Lawson recipe for panforte. Looks gorgeous but very rich.
(I can toast the panettone and spread with lemon curd )

It's not a vs thing, surely? They're both very different things! Personally i find panforte too strong tasting. I could eat oodles of panettone however (in fact I may have eaten nearly half of one already this season...)

I tried Morrisons panatone after seeing their advert..very disappointed.

Where can I get a nice one?

WholeNutt · 01/12/2013 20:54

Panatone?? ffs, panettone

Selks · 01/12/2013 20:55

Morrisons panettone is just a fruit loaf, not panettone. Lidl's panettone is as good as any and pretty authentic imo.

I LOVE Italian Christmas goodies, and Scandinavian and German Christmas goodies....yum.

I've got one from Lakeland. Yum
