Dd has been at the nursery since jan moving from baby to toddler room in August. I've brought the previous key worker and current key worker as well as the manager (who's been great) a 'hamper' - one that I've made for each of them:

Tresemme hair mask (99p)
Face mask (3 for £2)
Little bottle of wine (mini) - £1.49
Pack of love hearts (3 for 49p)
Medium size tolberone (99p)
Old school sweets (Sherbet fountain,Dib Dab) - 60p
Sanctuary lip balm - 99p
Mini candle (looks like Yankee but isn't) - 49p
Basket - £1.99

So total - about £8

I got some cheap Christmas tissue paper and put them together and they look 'ok' but I'm not sure if they look like I've not spent a lot now. Was going to get dd to make a card too (she's only 2).

What do you think? It seemed a good idea at the time and now I'm not sure.

I think that sounds lovely and so thoughtful! Most people me will just give them a box of Quality Street or something.

It sounds fab and very thoughtful. It's so much nicer to have something that's been put together than bought off the shelf. A lovely handwritten nite/card attached to it will be the icing on the cake. Smile

Sounds really lovely have thought about that for beaver leaders ds2 leaves for cubs x I bought some cellophane and pull bows for this sort of prezzie last year .

CiderwithBuda · 29/11/2013 17:30

Sounds lovely and like a lot of though went into it.

Happiestinwellybobs · 29/11/2013 17:30

That sounds lovely. I was so unsure what to buy DD's key worker, and for the rest of them.

Applefallingfromthetree2 · 29/11/2013 17:31

Lovely! I'd be really thrilled to receive something that had so much thought behind it.

Merry Christmas!

Wow! I was just going to make cookies... Feel like I should be doing more now! That hamper sounds lovely!

FadBook · 29/11/2013 17:33

Oh you've made me feel better. I like the idea of a letter / card saying thank you too. Other half is a teacher and he gets some unusual gifts sometimes so I've tried to buy 'practical' - like a nice cosy night in (face mask on, deep hair mask and face full of chocolate!)

I'd love that personally, much more than a box of chocs etc due to the thought behind it!
I second the idea about a card/note too.

ShyGirlie · 29/11/2013 19:08

Sounds lovely - would love this!!

Lovely thoughtful gift.

Now you are making me feel bad. Usually I don't do presents for nursery, just a bottle of wine for class teacher for DS and DD1.

headlesslambrini · 29/11/2013 19:30

The last year that my two were at nursery before they started school, I did a little digging and found out where they were having their Christmas do.

I rung up the place and arranged for bottles of wine to be on the table when they arrived. I figured that they needed booze for putting up with my two for so long but I love your idea.

WaitMonkey · 29/11/2013 20:50

Exactly what everyone else has said. Lovely gift. Smile

LaTrucha · 29/11/2013 20:57

Good Lord! Far from shit. I bought DDs a Thorntons hamper for all of them half price (which they do every year). I thought that was nice, but yours is way better
