Christmas Morning conundrum!

Every year we wake up and go still in pjs to my parents house, where all my siblings, some friends, grandparents, uncles, aunts, nieces & nephews are. There are so many presents all over the floor it's like an all day party and its amazing.

Last year DD was 2.5 and understood the very basics of Santa, that he leaves presents under the tree. So last year, packed up all the presents, dropped everything at my mums Christmas Eve (as always) so all our stuff would be there mixed in with everyone else's on Christmas morning. Stupidly did the carrot and cookies for Santa with DD which she was really excited about.

Christmas morning comes... She runs into the living room while we're getting coats on to go and bursts into tears because obviously, under our tree is empty. She says "But what about me?"

It was awful!! Literally, the most epic fail ever.

I want us to go to my mums, because it is amazing, and I don't want her to not have as many presents there as everyone else.

What would you do? She's 3 now and SO into Christmas. I'm doing her a stocking for the first time but that's not going to look much under our tree is it?

could you wrap a couple of bits for her to open at home before you head out? Or anyway you could stay over round your parents house?

Her presents under the tree, in s big hessian genuine sack from Santa. Lug the lot to your mums so she can open her presents from Santa with everyone else.

Write a letter to Santa with her and get her to decide where she wants her presents delivered to. Grin

This is the benefit of a small family and no other children apart from mine. When we go to gp on Christmas morning, even if the children only have two presents under the tree, that's generally one more than anyone else has. But, your Christmas morning sounds lovely and I'm sure my children would love to have someone else to play with apart from each other at family occasions. Honey dragons plan sounds good, maybe let her open one or two before she leaves, as she will probably be excited about it all.
