Where do you send letters to Father Christmas?

The boys have just written letters to Father Christmas. They've instructed me to write one for DD and then post them. But where do I send them?

Usually we leave them by the blocked up chimney to be collected. But this year DS1 has cottoned on to the chimney and says they need to go in the post box.

Help please?

This is the royal mail address - need to post (using a stamp) by 10 December:
Santa
Santa’s Grotto
Reindeerland
SAN TA1

I used it last year but only one dc got a reply Confused

Years ago DS1 sent his letter himself to,

Santa
The North Pole

He received a reply too, the following April Smile. It came from Lapland so was still nice.

It's changed this year shelley. Details here: Royal Mail. Ours went in the postbox today.

olivo · 25/11/2013 19:41

We post ours I to the fire- they fly up the chimney to FC and magically put themselves together.Smile

BornToFolk · 25/11/2013 19:42

I leave mine in the hall near the front door (where DS leaves his stocking) and it "magically" disappears during the night...

candycrushhater · 25/11/2013 19:44

We leave ours on the fireplace. Santa sends his fairy helpers out on the night of 30th November to collect all the boys and girls letters all over the world. We know that he has received our letters safely as the fairies leave advent calendars in their place Grin

Wow, I didn't know you could actually write to him!

Dd wants to send him a Christmas card.

Mckayz · 25/11/2013 20:29

Thanks. Will post them tomorrow.

Reindeerland?!

DD once just put it in the post box, no stamp, with To Santa written on it, and got a letter in return (randomly, didn't expect it at all!)

Post Box or getting jammed up the chimney will do!

BarfaStewart · 25/11/2013 20:39

We send DS's to the Royal Mail too.

ItLooksLikeRainDearpOOD · 25/11/2013 20:44

You can post them in John Lewis & you will get a reply

lookingforbaubles · 25/11/2013 20:52

they get left on the kitchen table

2 days later a reply appears thanks to the free templates and my printer

dd3 loves the personal information in it, and some times a suggestion that the older dd's have to follow as santa has said it Wink

Theincidental · 25/11/2013 20:53

We send ours care of grandparents (as this is where we'll be on Xmas day) so grandad can send the letter on. They will write back (from Santa!)

Fairylea · 25/11/2013 20:58

Nspcc do letters from santa every year. They're really good too :)

Dd just used to post one to santa in the post box though.

shelley72 · 25/11/2013 21:09

Thanks for the RM info. We did use JL this weekend to post ours, so will see if anything happens Smile

TheXmasLogIn · 25/11/2013 21:16

We have a big, red felt envelope (bought from Poundland a few years ago) that hangs on the end of the bannisters. Any letters put in there get taken by the elves in the night, and delivered to Santa. Sometimes a reply comes a few days later. Also sometimes a note to say he has noticed certain acts of good/bad behaviour ;)

Last year DS put his tangled up slinky (got in stocking the previous year) in the envelope with a letter asking if it could be fixed. By morning it was good as new and that was "real actual magic!"

callmekitten · 25/11/2013 21:37

We have a tree ornament that is a small canister that the letter goes into for Santa to collect. He puts a reply with a few chocolates in the canister a few days later for DD to find.

You guys have such fun ideas. I love the advent calendars being left in return!
