Other than make up, clothes or toiletries as they've been done to death.

I am clueless!

Book: Divergent by Veronica Roth? Saw a trailer for the film yesterday at the cinema - looks awesome.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 25/11/2013 20:13

DVDs, perfume, mobile phone (depends on budget obviously)primark vouchers, shoes (my dd asked my sister for shoes that I would definitely say no to)
Games for wii/xbox, books, onesies. Labelled stuff (hollister/superdry/rachet) especially things like hats and scarves seeing as my DC refuse to wear coats to school anymore.
giving away all my ideas here

nooka · 25/11/2013 20:16

My 13 year old is relatively easy, she'll be getting books (including the last of the Divergent series which she is very very keen to read), itunes cards, a dock for her iPod, a new bedding set, an 'IOU a day of shopping' and then for her stocking some silly bath stuff and some anime related things dh is ordering from somewhere Japanese.

My 14 year old ds on the other hand is very very tricky! All he really wants is a gaming computer, which he is not getting!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/11/2013 20:16

Concert tickets, drawing software, iPod, kindle, boots?

onepieceoflollipop · 25/11/2013 20:17

for dh's niece budget is around £20. I have got her £10 in a christmas money card, plus nice stationery (e.g. notebook etc from paperchase)

If I knew her better maybe a onesie.

For her birthday got her beautiful lipglosses in a tin.

earrings?

I need ideas for a 14 year old boy - birthday and Christmas before the end of the year. TBH I don't see him often so don't know what he likes. Budget £15-£20 each present. Prefer to keep them separate as don't feel its fair to combine as one pressie. But want to be slightly more inspired than Amzon vouchers.

onepieceoflollipop · 25/11/2013 20:24

Milk, can you find out if there is a dvd or two he might like.
T-shirt from an acceptable (to him!) shop?

DontNickMyMilk · 25/11/2013 21:00

Thanks Lollipop, I really must email his DM - we tend not to talk much these days

MortifiedAnyFuckerAdams · 25/11/2013 21:01

Cinema voucher

holycowwhatnow · 25/11/2013 21:04

The brands-du-jour for my 13. yr old D's are Hollister and superdry, if that's of any help.

cocolepew · 25/11/2013 21:04

I got 12 yo DD2 a ticket to see Katy Perry, a couple of cds, a ticket to see Miranda ( DD1 loves her but it was better value to buy a family ticket) a poster and a Lonsdsle set from Sports Direct which had smellies, socks and earphones in it.

Mitchell2 · 25/11/2013 21:10

Top shop, river island or new look vouchers. At that age they usually appreciate being able to choose.

ErrolTheDragon · 25/11/2013 21:16

Difficult if you don't know the child - my 14yo is anti-brands and logos!

At that age, unless you've got a clue what they like (and don't already have, if they love a band they'll probably already have the tracks they want) then really an iTunes or whatever voucher may be best bet. If you do have some idea of their interests, a band T-shirt or hoody, or look at Café Press - eg if they're into some sport or love a particular type of dog you can get all sorts of different items with anything.

nooka · 25/11/2013 21:27

Neither of my kids are into brands. dd is very keen on nerdy/geeky stuff, plus it's generally very easy to make her happy! ds is only really into Brony stuff and I'm not sure I really want to encourage that too much! Plus it's a bit of an odd fandom, and I have no idea where to find gear really. Although having said that Café Press looks totally possible - thanks Errol!

raisah · 25/11/2013 21:29

www.cineworld.co.uk/mobile/offers/283

cineworld christmas box x 2 tickets, voucher for x 2 drinks, sweets & x 1 popcorn for £20 which is v good value considering 1 ticket costs about £9.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/11/2013 10:48

Nooka - I had to google Brony - wow, so that's a Real Thing? ShockGrin But sure enough café press has some stuff - I think I'd go with PJs for something like that! (note - quite a lot of their stuff is available via amazon which I think has lower shipping costs)

Madmog · 26/11/2013 11:07

Mine can only come up with four books and says she doesn't want cash as she won't spend it (believe her as she has £200 cash in her room). She has said, perhaps vouchers from New Look, River Island, Waterstones and Hobbycraft as this will make her focus on buying something from that shop.

sweetheart · 26/11/2013 12:32

Various things my dd has mentioned are:-
BMX
slushy cup
fish - robotic or real
anything duck related (she loves ducks) I have got her a duck usb and a duck keyring for her house keys
kneeboard
Xbox games
spotify / netflicks subscription
onesie
Nike hightops

MissMilliment · 26/11/2013 13:58

I've got DS a pillow that he can plug his iPod into - it has built in speakers so he can fall asleep listening to music without trying to wear his headphones in bed. Other than that I'm a bit stumped as I used up all my good ideas for his birthday.
