I've bought myself a problem.....what's better than a Batcave?

I've been racking my brains for weeks to think what to get DD (4) for Christmas, and I've just gone and made it more difficult for myself. She has a cousin (my nephew) who's the same age. The two of them are very close and he and his family will be spending Christmas Day with us. Inspired by threads on here - and finding it at half price in Argos last week - I've bought him an Imaginext Batcave for his present.

But I can't think what to get DD! She's got broad but shallow tastes. She likes Cars, Thomas, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Monsters Inc and all the Toy Story films, as well as the usual Disney Princess and Hello Kitty stuff. I've got her a range of really cool little things for her stocking and was planning on getting her a 'token toy' as a present from Mummy and Daddy, costing no more than £30. She's already got a toy kitchen, a castle, a pirate ship, a baby doll, a play tent, a scooter and a bike. She got some Lego and Playmobil for her birthday but hasn't shown much interest in it.

Given that they'll be opening their presents together, I feel I should get DD something that's at least as cool as a Batcave - how bad would it be if my nephew got a better present than my daughter! Equally, I don't want to go crazy and spend money on a toy that she doesn't really want just for the sake of it. I REALLY don't want to spend more than £30.

Help! Any suggestions????

Has she got a pram for her doll?

What about a kit to make a den? Ds is older but is getting a pop up tent, a camo net, a tarpaulin etc

Dd (3) and ds (7) are also getting a wobble deck which I think they'll both love

She has a pushchair for her doll which she uses quite a bit. She also has a wigwam style tent which is quite big.

What is a wobble deck? That sounds interesting.

A big marble run?

Why not get her a batcave too? I'm sure they will love having one each and then they can fight each other.

Now that looks good noblegiraffe - I saw that in a shop yesterday but we'd ruled it out because it was too expensive. Also, it only has the Jake character so we'd need to buy an Issy character separately, but I reckon we could stretch to it at that price.

You may have saved Christmas........

hi molly - we had considered it, but we thought it would be silly to buy her the same thing - they really enjoy playing with each other's toys when they go to each other's houses. Also, she knows nothing at all about Batman (yet) so I think she'd struggle to play with it when he's not there.

I'm collecting the Jake Tiki Hideout thing from my local Asda tomorrow evening and will pick up some extra characters to go with it. Very relieved to have sorted this out!

Thanks for your suggestions as well Sunshine. I especially like the Dance Mat suggestion - might save that up for her birthday.

I only thought of it because the Asda catalogue had a picture of two children playing next to each other, one had the bat cave, the other the Jake hideout. Clearly they know their audience!
