£250 to spend on 20 mo..... help?!

Ds is 20 mo, and his dad see's him maybe once a month ish for a few hours. He has asked what I would like for him for christmas as he has aprox £200- £250 to spend.

I have spent about £30 myself as I'm broke so this sticks in my throat a little, but I don't want to waste this financial input as I'm aware it may not happen again (if you see what I mean?!)

DS doesn't really need anything, so what should I ask for that won't be wasted?? I have so far come up with aqua doodle mat, craft stuff..... something for the garden maybe??

Any ideas? Please help, I don't want to waste this! Thank you :)

What about cot bedding? Ours is still in his at 4 with loads of space so I guess you will get another 4 years out of it. Waterproof mattress covers - helpful when potty training
Cot bed duvet/ covers

Toilet training seat to go on toilet? And step? You will prob want to start training him at some point next year. The babybjorn seats are great with boys as they can't pee over the top! But are more expensive than most £25 ish I think

Dressing gown? Slippers?

The micro scooters really are great compared to any other. Much lighter, better balanced and easier to control so can use earlier

mammmamia · 24/11/2013 20:27

I was going to say swimming lessons, Clarks vouchers and micro scooter!

Meglet · 24/11/2013 20:28

A micro scooter is worth it. He should be able to use it until he's over 5.

TheDoctrineOfWho · 24/11/2013 20:31

Yy to micro scooter. You can get lots if bits and bobs for then too, like lights.

TheDoctrineOfWho · 24/11/2013 20:32

Toys from M&S so you can exchange some for clothes?

CinnamonPorridge · 25/11/2013 08:58

If he wants to spend that much, would ask for a micro scooter (good resale value too after years of usage) and something for the garden. Playhouse? Or if too expensive maybe just a small shed you can make into a playhouse for him. Paint nicely, put curtains and carpet in, playtable, etc...

princesscupcakemummyb · 25/11/2013 15:58

clarks vouchers

clothes store vouchers for your ds so you can buy the next size clothing

something for the future he might need toys for summer

SugarplumKate · 25/11/2013 17:05

I would definitely go for a micro scooter - they are fab (DD has only just stopped using hers at age 7). We got DS one for his 2nd birthday (a little young, but his birthday is so close to Christmas that I wanted something for when he was older iyswim). He is 2 years 9 months now and can ride it really well.

What about a voucher for days out (or even a season ticket) for somewhere nearby - a zoo, soft play place etc. Legoland is fab with that age if you are near enough.

I-pad mini? (so you can use it) Grin.

A nice play house for the garden (if he doesn't play in it you can use it as a shed), a trike/bike, duplo, duplo table, nice toy kitchen, toy garage, clothes (or clothes vouchers for the sales) or a climbing frame/swing?

Thank you all so much everyone, I emailed over a list earlier with pretty much all the suggestions on here listed (with links!) so we shall see what turns up on Christmas Day.

Wish I'd seen the iPad mini suggestion sooner actually, my laptop is on it's last legs and I ds would love one Grin
