Budget around a tenner. she's a veggie. Hobbies include skiing, guitar playing and flying (her bf is a pilot).

Have just ordered a personalised plectrum for my dad so would have to be something totally different if I get some sort of guitar accessory. Last year we bought a snood thingy as she was off skiing for new year.

Am totally stuck this year Confused still.

She usually buys anything we want herself and has more disposable income than we do so usually gifts from us are a bit token-ish iyswim.

I suggested a charity donation or something similar to my dad but he looked a bit Hmm at me. Also thought of making something but I think she'd just be a bit 'meh' about it.

Any ideas? My only other maybe useful thought was driving gloves but not sure what quality would be like for a tenner.

Have you looked on 'not on the hight street.com, I find they have done unusual/quirky stuff on there and a lot of it can be personalised.

ThePieSmuggler · 23/11/2013 20:41

That would be HIGH street, obviously.

Veggie night in kit? Posh pasta, olive.s, pesto etc?

lucysmam · 23/11/2013 20:55

DoItTooJulia that's possibly not a bad idea...wonder if I could find something along those lines ready made. I know that anything looking vaguely home made will get a Hmm

I've seen a plectrum maker mentioned on a few threads on here recently - it presses plectrums from old credit cards, store cards etc from what I can gather.

Would that appeal to her?

(I'll try and find a link)

NorbertDentressangle · 23/11/2013 20:59

plectrum makers (£12-20 ish)

lucysmam · 23/11/2013 21:00

I looked at one of those for my dad Norbert but thought it might just get shoved to the back of a cupboard and ignored

I think I replied on your other thread, but I'll say it again. If you really can't think of a thing you know she'd like, and she's likely to be Hmm about anything you give, just don't bother. She really won't care, and you can stop all of this once and for all.

JoyceDivision · 23/11/2013 21:02

If she's a veggiw whatabout makingher a hamper from a deli with thingls like posh unusual pasta (like the black squid ink pasta) and stuff in it?

MulledWineGless · 23/11/2013 21:37

She may be able to buy anything she wants but it's not the same as a gig chosen by your sister.

What about something like this wizard of oz bookmark
Or this bottle of OPI nail varnish, toe separators in a clear bag and a label or printable with "for your mistletoes" or similar ?

Any good?

MulledWineGless · 23/11/2013 21:37

Gig=gift

lucysmam · 23/11/2013 22:13

oooh, I like the bookmark...must ask my dad if she reads as much as she used to.

Will have a google for some nice veggie treats too and see what I can find

Shatner I would but then I'd feel guilty about it. She probably isn't that bothered tbh, I still have last years birthday present lurking in the blanket box because they were busy and then it just got forgotten about Confused . They spend loads on my girls too usually so I do want to give her something to open, even just something small.

if she likes skiing what about buying her a Buff. Go Outdoors have them at reasonable cost (don't use mail order service . it's rubbish) The merino wool ones are lovely .

celestialsquirrels · 23/11/2013 22:21

One really good bottle of olive oil or one really good bottle of balsamic vinegar. Don't bother with the hamper - just a single really nice bottle is a great present! I'd be happy with that, much more than bits and pieces of tat

lucysmam · 24/11/2013 13:05

steeking there's a Go Outdoors opened in town I think...will have a look on Tuesday when I go to town.

I'll have a hunt for a good bottle of olive oil too, not too sure where to go for that though...I usually use Asda or Sainsburys brand ones Confused

Im not sure if its considered good quality but Carluccio's have really nice gifty food things, I bet they'd have a bottle of olive oil to fit the bill :)

chezchaos · 24/11/2013 16:15

How about a set of lip balms or similar, I got these for my niece:

Moomoomie · 24/11/2013 16:19

Meringue33 · 25/11/2013 20:09
