We have huge family which makes Christmas lovely and stressful all at the same time, I've bought gifts for all the children, they're fun and easy! Now I have 18 adults to buy for, I got a few things in the body shop the other day but don't want to get every one smellies, obviously I want lots of lovely things really cheaply for girls and boys aged 26-80 years old!

Me too. I find adults impossible to buy for.

I actually did the scarves thing last year! But it's a nice idea, I usually end up buying things for the sake of getting something rather than because it's lovely! My budget is between £10 grown up cousins and £60ish for my mum, anything considered, honestly theirs loads of them !

Marking my place.. I have the same problem too.

I am going to the local farm/farmers market to get some nice/unusual jams, chutneys, and other things that keep well. Everyone likes food, right?!

SmallBee · 23/11/2013 08:52

Food is always good! Fancy biscuits, chocolates & alcohol are usually popular. You could always make up some mini hampers?
Last year we were given some homemade biscuits & chocolates from my step sis in law that were wrapped up beautifully & delicious. If you're a baker you could whizz up a bunch of things like that?

Hampers - nice boxes or cheap jute bags with jams, chutneys, crackers, mulled wine and chocs. Fill them with stuff based on your budget. Marks and spencers is good if you are doing lots as they have a lot of 3 for 2 offers on that sort of thing at christmas.

Alternatively you could make your own chutney or christmas pudding or other flavoured vodka.

For the people you have a bigger budget for add things like nice books or smellies.

You could do themed hampers too - movie night where you get a dvd, some popcorn or chocs - again the tubs of choc bites and rocky road from m&s are good for that, and some nice beer or wine. There's also things like 'make your own pizza' where you buy a nice pizza stone and cutter plus some ingredients like a good jar of tomato sauce, chorizo and some nice cheeses.

You could also do 'pots of gold' where you fill a container of some sort with gold wrapped sweets and any other gifts (whiskey minatures, nail varnish, smellies) plus some lottery scratch cards. You can use gold crepe paper, mini christmas decorations and cellophane to wrap and decorate. I've done it with glass tumblers (cheap packs of four from Wilkinsons) and make your own cracker kits before now.
