Christmas Eve hamper: For DC or for all the family?

I'm doing a Christmas Eve hamper for the first time this year. DS is almost 3 and it's the first year that he is aware of Christmas and Santa etc, so I want to start new family traditions. I've had lots of idea from MN on things to put in the hamper for DS, but I've also read that some of you do it for the whole family. I'm interested to hear from you whether your hamper is just for DC or for all of you.

I'm not sure what I'd put in for DP. I think he'd keel over at the sight of pyjamas (he sleeps in joggers and I think he would see it as sign of getting old by receiving a sensible, practical gift) Grin

Just pj's, slippers and a christmas book for the children here.
If it starts to be a whole gift thing for everyone then it will really take the gloss off presents the next day.
Unless of course your DP still believes in Santa

Mostly for the DCs, we get lots of enjoyment from seeing the DCs in their new jammies and it'll be a treat for me to paint their tree decorations. And I'm especially looking forward to reading their new book to them (how the grinch stole Xmas)

But last year we added pjs for ourselves too and might carry that on.

Grin at festive with the unless your DP still believes in Santa, that made me giggle.

Hampers only for DC. The Elf on the shelf left them the hampers in our house.

Festive, my DP is completely "Bah Humbug" about Christmas. Hmm maybe it's best the hamper is just for DS then Grin

Hampers for the DC here.

And they aren't 'present' presents, it's things they need anyway, like new PJs and dressing gown.

And yes, my DS really does need the jar of sweets, he says. Wink

Hamper is for everyone here, as are stockings. Pyjamas for adults tend to be freshly-laundered rather than new. Hot chocolate, dvd etc are for everyone. The bubble bath is for the DCs. The wine is for the grown ups.

We do a December 1st hamper, not a Christmas Eve one, partly so it doesn't take the shine off Christmas Day and partly so we get longer use out of the things. A lot of it is the same every year, Christmas mugs (old but teatowels added this year), Advent Calendar (1 resusable and one new picture one), Christmas DVD (new), books (same, we've got quite a few now), etc. So, it is a general family thing, not actually gifts for anyone. On Christmas Eve the DCs get new pjs and I get my Christmas ones out and we have a mug of hot chocolate but the DCs get let off having a bath, so no bath stuff needed. Christmas bedding is going to appear on their beds at the beginning of December too. Oh and Christmas music gets put on Ipods.

It's my first year of doing a ceh, and I'm doing one for the whole family. No pyjamas here (I buy enough when the dds grow into their next size, I don't want to but extra sets, especially as my dds di not get excited abou

Bugger, accidently posted too soon.

I don't want to buy extra pyjamas when my dds do not get excited about clothes.

Our hamper will have bath bombs, new christmas book, hot choc and marshmallows, popcorn, some sort of choc or sweets, beer and wine. Possibly a dvd or crafty activity depending on what we do. Basically nice treats for christmas eve, no new toys.

We have my DPs with us this year and I want to do a hamper for the first time (DS is 9!)
He will have new PJ bottoms, hot chocolate and marshmallows, not sure about a bath bomb as showers are cool now, baths are for babies (:o) I want to put a net of chestnuts in to roast on the fire, a gingerbread house kit we can all chip in with, some form of alcohol for the adults and some sweets.
I think that will probably be it really though I do like the idea of freshly laundered PJ bottoms for DH and I rather than buying new ones :)
