Which shops are taking gifts for charity ( children's hospitals etc..)?

Have just wrapped the dd's Christmas presents and have obviously gone a bit OTT with dd2 ( thanks to the bargain threads on here), I would like to donate a couple of her presents to children that won't get much for Christmas. Which shops are doing the 'give a extra gift thing' this year?

I'm sure your local Salvation Army or Women's refuge would be glad of them. They often distribute the gifts to local families in need.
A small charity called Post Pals who sends post to poorly children and their siblings is also running Christmas schemes this year. You can read more about them here.

Superdrug collected for the Salvation Army last year but not sure about this year.

Contact the fundraising dept of your local hospital about how to donate gifts.

The Evalina Childrens hospital (part of St. Thomas' London) has info on their webpage on how to donate.

Our local shopping mall has a giving tree appeal - they have tags on the tree with boy/girl and their age. You pick a tag and purchase a suitable gift. Maybe see if your local mall does anything similar.

I think I saw a collection trolley in both our local asda and tesco. Not sure which charity they were for as didn't look very closely. I just remember thinking that the DC could choose something to put in this year.

Thank you, we don't really have a big hospital near by or a shopping mall but I will try Asda and Tesco, I think whsmiths did it one year?

The local press often make a big deal of these things too. Try searching your local paper's website.

Often local van hire companies get involved in my area. They have collection points in their offices and then deliver van loads to charities.

My local Asda definitely does one - the presents went to a local hospital last year.
