My dd 6 has asked for one of these. Noticed it's in the Asda toy sale down to £15 but has anyone got one and could tell me are they any good?

My daughter (7) wants this but the reviews are not great.

I just buy the generic balls for it, they cost 99p for a bagful (dehydrated) and you can choose from loads of different colours. My DD is a sensory seeker and absolutely loves them. The Soothing Spa machine is a waste of money IMO, just fill a plastic tub for the same effect.

Is that the one with the multi coloured balls? My nearly seven yo has had her eye on it for quite a while but I wasn't too sure about it Confused

it looks to me like a present you buy for the child of someone you don't likeGrin It'll be moonsand all over again.

TheXmasLogIn · 19/11/2013 11:36

This is the stuff I buy. It is a fun activity for kids, just not one that is worth £25 ish IMO

Tis the toy of the devil.

madinmay · 20/11/2013 17:27

It's the main present on my 9yr old DD's list! Just read the reviews too :( Was wondering if better off getting a proper foot spa but maybe i"ll just get the beads and a plastic bowl ;)

Noooooooo not moonsand all over again.....still finding that stuff in my rug two years later Smile

Decided against a foot spa now (dd has changed her mind).

DD and her friends all loved moonsand, especially those who weren't allowed it at home. I was cool (old) mum for letting them play with it. I was thinking of this foot spa for DD but won't get it now. What would happen if you put those balls in a "proper" foot spa I wonder?

TheXmasLogIn · 22/11/2013 08:19

what does a proper foot spa do? (never used one)
if it heats up, I wouldn't recommend putting the balls in
I think the idea of the toy one is that it feels nice squishing them with your feet or having them pour onto you.
same thing can be achieved using a washing up bowl and a jug IMO Grin

I think my DD prefers touching them with her hands over her feet anyway. Also they are quite bouncy......
