Family are arriving for Christmas Day.
Give me your best food recipes/tips etc.
I am not wanting to do much cooking on the day.
It is a warm climate - so no big heavy/hot roasts and not overboard cost wise.

So basically your best 'summer' entertaining recipes thanks :)

When visiting family in Oz for Christmas if we're having lunch as the main meal of the day it's often fish based, one year we had an amazing salmon Wellington with lots of steamed veg, looked great as a centrepiece on the table, was out of the ordinary and so was special and was filling without being heavy. We do sometimes do the traditional roast though but have it in the evening so it's more comfy to stuff our faces Grin
For dessert pavlova with lots of fresh cream and ice cream, light, cool but yummy and indulgent all at once.

We get a fresh seafood platter, fruit and cheese platters and an assortment of treats. No cooking.

BBQ ?

Braai with lovely salads and all the usual side dishes?

I'm thinking we might get a posh ham and nice salads. We'll save the BBQ for Boxing Day as its a bit of a faff

It'll be mid 20s here and we always do full turkey dinner. It's not Christmas without it!

A roast turkey would make a great centerpiece, just serve it cold with salads, nice bread and sides etc. Yum. Of course, you'd still have to roast it!

Can you get hold of a weber? Takes the heat out of the kitchen if you do want to do any roasting.
