I saw a wooden kitchen in mothercare and it was beautiful, I think she might be to young to play with it properly though so don't know if I should wait another year

I don't think 14 months is too young for a kitchen especially if you play with her, it's brilliant having children, girls especially for me and getting to relive all the toys hehehe.

DS3 will be 3 in March and the last two years we have actually bought him very little. He has got clothes and pjs from everyone and we have got him a few little things like building beakers or lego but mostly he wanted to oull the tree down.

When it was just DS1 we went crazy though and bought a ridiculous amount of stuff.

A MNetter I know on her DC birthdays when they are little gets them PJS and a large cardboard box that she fills with balloons and when they open it all the balloons fly out.

DD will be 15 months at Xmas. We have bought her a Happyland train set. PILs are buying a dolly and pram, DM has bought a pound and roll toy and DF has bought a postbox game.

She loves her pop up tent and tunnel from her birthday, and her smart trike is the best thing ever - she squeals from the moment we put her on it, and it will grow with her till she's three or so

I've bought Duplo Creative Cakes (half price at £9.99 on Amazon today) for one year olds before. It is a great set as there is nothing swallow able or breakable, but babies seem to love taking apart the cakes / towers that you make them, plus all the "Happy Birthday" singing from the adult that it encourages! Duplo is a great toy to start building up a collection of. My 5 year old boy likes playing with this toy in the bath still, serving tea and cakes with his 3 year old sister.
