Aha - Christmas coins you say?
The year that DS was 2 years old at Christmas, when asked for what he wanted from Father Christmas, he only asked for chocolate coins. It became a bit of a mission for me to collect as many different kinds as possible (think Phoebe from Friends and cups and ice).
So, DP thought I was totally bonkers when on Christmas Eve I brought out from different hidden corners of the house an array of different chocolate coins.
All the supermarkets do a slight variation on a large chocolate coin - some gold, some silver and some bronze. I bought variations from:
M&S
Tesco
Waitrose
Sainsburys
M&S also do chocolate money notes.
Starbucks do a medium sized chocolate coin - somewhere in between a normal sized one like you get in nets and a large sized one.
Hawkins that year claimed to sell the largest chocolate coin available in Europe. I trekked across London to the nearest one but to be honest it wasn't any bigger (maybe a bit thicker chocolate) than your usual supermarket one.
Harrods do large pink and blue chocolate coins as part of their circus sweets range - they look quite good.
And Heals do mini chocolate coins in different colours (silver, gold and bronze) in small see-through plastic piggy banks. (Tooth fairy brings a few of these coins in our house).
