Ds's 7 & 5 have expressed an interest in Robo Fish. Electronic fish that you can put in water?? Anyone know if they're any good?

I thought they were the most ridiculous thing ever when husband bought them for my son, but actually son (5) loves them. He puts them in the bath at bath time and plays for ages! You need a multipack of button batteries though!

They're OK - as in they do what it says on the tin.

Value for money is poor IMO (we paid £20 for 2 including a goldfish bowl), but the DC's love taking theirs in the bath so I'd say they've been a hit.

They do seem to cause arguements though!

Maybe good for their stockings then.....thanks :)

I think they had an offer on them in The Entertainer - £6 for 1 rings a bell

thanks...Will have a look when I get home! Grin

They're tat! Mainly because the batteries last about two hours and then they start to swim verrrryyy slowly. And the batteries are really expensive. I wouldn't buy again, although ds wanted one badly.

Belgianchox · 05/11/2013 12:57

They're tat, battery life really short, and ours never swam again after one change of battery. Complete waste of money, although the kids thought they were great (for about 5 minutes).

Isildur · 05/11/2013 13:05

They are well made.

We have had one for about a year, still on it's first battery.

My son uses it mainly in the bath, or short stints in a £1 goldfish bowl we bought though. He doesn't leave it swimming all day.

They come with a little stand to dry them out/store them on.

Dd got one a few weeks ago, bloody thing kept going off when it wasn't in water and didn't always work in water, it died after a couple of days so I put it in the bin.

hermioneweasley · 05/11/2013 21:45

DS is desperate for one!

KatOD · 05/11/2013 21:49

My 11 year old goddaughter is obsessed with hers.

Argos have the hex bug ones in the 2 for £15 offer when I looked a week or so ago. Have bought them for the DS's stockings.

Guitargirl · 08/11/2013 19:13

Amazon have the hexbug versions for 4.99 at the moment.
