so im on with decorating my lounge black white silver , I love my current tree - its green with gold teal and green decorations from next, I just don't think it will go with my new colour scheme Sad
iv been looking and think that I like that idea of a black Christmas tree but im not sure Hmm any ideas?

Trees must always be green Grin

Silver, glass and purple would be nice or teal instead of purple since you already have those - although I do love an excuse to get new decorations.

We have a BIG (over six foot tall and three foot wide) fake tree, it's fab! This year I'm making beaded candy canes and am on the hunt for little (fake) gingerbread people to put on with it.

Might attempt some beaded sweeties as well if I have chance Grin

With a monochrome type room you can either stick with that theme for your decorations or do a complete contrast. If you like the teal and green decs, why not just swap the gold ones for silver and pewter, and you could add a few clear or frosty items as well.

When choosing tree decs, select a variety of shapes, and textures i.e. smooth, glittery, shiny, matte, embellished etc which will add interest to your tree. Also be careful not to have too many dark coloured decs, as they tend to 'disappear' against the background of a dark green tree. I would choose a mixture of cheap and cheerful and more expensive items. Once Hallowe'en is out of the way stores will get their stock out on display. I think Wilkinsons have (so far) a few dark silver/pewter items that look far more expensive than they are. Another good source are garden centres, they often have more unusual items.
