I'm making my first ever Christmas cake this year but without alcohol. Can anyone recommend me a recipe?
I'm also not sure how early to make it.

Thanks

No recipie suggestions, but for the cooking, I'd suggest swapping any booze for OJ or strong tea.
I suspect you then don't feed it, so might be worth making slightly nearer the time?

Thanks for the advice. If it were a normal one I'd be fine as I've made black bun before and assume it's about the same, obviously without the pastry.
The no alcohol request has thrown me

Could you still use brandy but burn the alcohol off before using it? Or is that a ridiculous suggestion??!!

Im making loads of Christmas cakes. I use orange juice to soak the fruit for the kids cakes. And I make them a bit nearer Christmas. I've started on the adult ones with brandy. More to do tomorrow. It costs me a fortune!

I use Orange juice. I make it now and feed it occasionally. It has always come out lovely and moist.

As a muslim I dont drink alcohol but love a nice moist fruit cake so here are a few tips to help:

Apparently this works without alcohol, just use orange juice and make it nearer Christmas and store it properly.make the cake no more than 10 days before eating it and keep it for no longer than 5 days after.
