What are you buying for 6 year old girls?

I am really stuck for ideas for dd3. She's the youngest of 3 girls so we have plenty of toys as you can imagine. We already have loads of Polly Pocket, Sylvanians, books, games etc, although tbh I think she's getting a bit bored and would like something completely new and different to play with.

I thought maybe Playmobil...?

She has a bike and also dd2's old scooter. And the house is already over-run with Hama beads Grin

Any ideas?

Well I've got my 6yo books and I've made her a quilt but my aunty still wants an idea for her. She's getting Dd2 a tablet (6yo already has one) so wants to spend about the same on her but I can't think of anything she wants.

She loves her cheapy mp3 player and speakers so would probably appreciate a voucher for music more than anything but my aunty won't buy vouchers.

Probably some Roald Dahl books.

A science kit, haven't decided which one yet.

Saw a car for her Sylvanian families for £12.50 yesterday I Toys R Us. So will probably get that too.

She still keeps asking for lego friends but, she finds them hard to put together and doesn't play with the ones she's got much.

I want a science kit for 6yo dd1 but can't find a good one. Everyone I read has bad reviews.

There must be a good one out there somewhere.

I'm in the same boat confused. Absolutely everyone has bad reviews doesn't it.

DS has this kit which is good. Might have a nosey at their range later to see if there is anything suitable for dd. She's a bit more of a kitchen experiment kind of girl Smile

Giraffe, thanks for the furby Amazon link, I've ordered one for DD1. She saw her Spanish cousin's one and it is the only thing she has asked for for Christmas, but I was balking at £60 for something she might not play with. She hadn't asked for a particular colour so I thought this was great.

What books are people thinking of getting or which books are popular with your dd. Was going to get her sone Roald Dahl but I think at this rate she will have taken them all out of the library by Christmas.

I'm taking dd out for the day near Christmas and that's her main present. We're going to the Harry Potter Experience. We won tickets to it a year ago and she still talks about it most days. She has no idea and this is a massive treat for her and me. We usually buy v little for Christmas.

I've made her some clothes too and am making her some art for her bedroom walls. I have quite a few books I've been collecting from charity shops. I have the complete Lemony Snicket collection, some Jeremy Strong, Pippi Longstocking and some David Walliams.

Family have bought her some audio books (she likes them on in the car) and lots of crafty stuff, particularly paper and coloured biros for writing 'books'.

My DDs (8 &7) love Playmobil. Would highly recommend the vet centre, the Christmas market and the swimming pool...they are the favourites with us.

I was given a copy to borrow years ago as a child by a wonderful amazing lady....I was going though a hard time and that book really lifted me and helped me through it!

I re read that book every so often and would love my DCs to read it and see it the same way I do.
I am there flying through the town (with flippers) with Casper, Johnny & Gwynnie.
And I definitely want those huge treacle bars on my radiators.

jiltedjohn and whitewine is the idea with playmobil that YOU assemble it all for the child? Or do they put it together similar to lego friends?

Dd loves animals so the vet clinics a good idea.

For science kits, try Hot Wires. It's great and although I think it says 8+, my DD6 can make most without ant help.

Not sure what I'll buy DD this year. The only thing she's asked for are stompeez, the magic tooth fairy game and a onesie.
