Are they for adults or children?

For kids:
sweets e.g. Bonbons or flying saucers etc
cookies
marshmallows
Home made popcorn - maybe chocolate?

Teens:
Bath bombs
slightly older sweets - maybe fudge?

Adults:
Fancy tea bags
Peppermint fondants
dried fruits

soontobeslendergirl · 15/10/2013 14:37

and you could do some more adult flavoured popcorn - e.g. chili

some good ideas there thanks.

All age ranges. just want to do some bits with DD1 so she is more involved and think she'll enjoy making them, just want them cheap Grin

sorry, they are mostly food related - the fact that I am on a diet has absolutely nothing to do with it :)

tablet - if you are not scottish then you will probably have to google!
Chocolate brownies
flapjacks
little plastic soldiers/firemen - pound shop.
Bouncy balls
Party poppers
glow sticks/bangles
coloured pencils/fancy rubbers - i had some christmassy ones one year

soontobeslendergirl · 15/10/2013 15:07

ooh - what about some smelly things that you can put in drawers e.g. fancy paper with scent sprayed on :)

We've made these the last couple of years. They were very popular with relatives. I put them in cellophane bags and tied them with some festive ribbon:

Christmas Biscotti

I second the Biscotti. That has gone down really well for me.
Truffles, mints,

How about making some Xmas decorations? or mini crackers?

What about peppermint bark? You can get candy canes from poundland and you also need dark and white chocolate. I haven't made this yet but lots of receipts on internet

lilolilmanchester · 15/10/2013 17:43

not quite what you were asking, but I often use cellophane bags for small gifts e.g. bracelets/necklaces... wrap them in tissue, put in cellophane bag tied with ribbon & curl ribbon.

When the children were smaller, I'd make up bags of Christmas chocolates/sweets (cheapo choc lollies from Aldi/Lidls, choc coins, small choc santas etc) again, tied with ribbon - handy stocking fillers/things to give young visitors.

Homemade honeycomb or marshmallow

Mumzy · 15/10/2013 19:58

brownie mix
risotto mix

TelephoneTree · 15/10/2013 21:19

Homemade peppermint bark (think layer of chocolate with smashed candy canes sprinkled and pressed in to the top).

Homemade turkish delight

  • both need to live in the fridge though!
TelephoneTree · 15/10/2013 21:20

homemade fizzy bath bombs - really easy to make - just google.
