Food hamper for DP

I'm thinking of doing a food hamper for DP for Christmas. Does anyone have any ideas of things in shops you don't usually notice ? :)

So far...

Beer/drink of some sort
Chocolates
Biscuits
Chilli oil

Preferably not fresh/fridge stuff.

Thanks

I often buy my DP cheese - you can get a nice blue stilton or something, which keeps for months (ignore the shop sell by/eat by dates - it gets better the longer you keep it).

He also loves chilli based sauces - the hotter the better. White chocolate. Whisky.

How about some nice pate (which also keeps for ages), or confit de canard, caviar, Gentleman's Relish, pickles....

  • Shortbread
  • Candied fruit

He's not too fussed about cheese, but chilli sauces are a good idea.

Shortbread a great idea too, although I do tend to make that with the DDs leading upto Christmas (although that gives me another idea as looking for ideas to give out to siblings as not doing presents this year so finding stuff to do with the DDs)

More ideas welcome...

  • posh nuts
  • vegetable crisps
  • roasted chestnuts that come in a jar (Tesco sells them)

  • Brandy butter?

M&S have added a Christmas cushion in their hamper... maybe you could add something comfy?

Truffle oil would be good; it makes any soup taste fabulous.

Great ideas, keep them coming :)

Making notes on my phone and will have a wander round the supermarkets.

Oh coffee.

Where can I get nice coffee samples from?

Jars of baby stuffed cherry peppers/ olives?

Whittards tea or hot chocolate? Montezuma chocolates?

Red wine and pate?

I've used a company called Simply Cornish Hampers before - as you can probably tell by the name they do some lovely Cornish things and have a few products in for Christmas.

Fudge and that type of thing are always great for a festive food hamper.

What a lovely idea. I want to do this now. :)

Does he like flavoured coffee? How about those little bottles of syrup they sell in Starbucks/ Cafe Nero?
