ringaringarosy we have a really large kitchen and I love decorating it. It's where I spend most of my time so I like it to be festive. Fairy lights draped wherever possible and little snowflake lights along all the windows, along with various red and white stars etc hanging in the windows. I replace all my usual plant pots with gold ones and I tie little red velvet bows to all my cupboard handles. I put out lots of red and white candles on my shelves and work tops and I also have various little ornaments dotted about, all red and white - little Santa Claus etc. I buy really beautifully boxed food items too like panettone etc which I leave out on the worktops rather than put them away in cupboards. Helps to add to the festive feel. And I fill bonbon dishes with little christmas chocolates from Lidl and have them randomly placed around so people can help themselves. I put away the cushions from the kitchen sofas and replace them with Christmas cushions. And I always have christmas dishtowels and hand towels.

The stairs leading up to the drawing room are in the kitchen and I love to decorate that too. It's the only internal staircase we have so would be a waste not to. In fact just this week I bought a load of really nice large red and white baubles and decorations from tk maxx that I am going to experiment with this year. Going to try hanging lots of them from underneath the handrail instead of doing the usual garland thing.

But even when I've had very tiny kitchens in the past I still decorated them. Fairy lights, towels etc. Takes up hardly any space but spreads the festive cheer. :)

Swedish traditional style (DH brought it over when he moved here, and I love the style). Little red and white gnomey things which they have, loads of small red knitted things and stuff, wooden/felt ornaments, all very traditional. Red and white. Non coloured lights. A wreath and some holly.

My parents always have traditional red/gold with green accents.

This year, no longer under their roof, my theme is sparkle and glitter. Simply because I can.
