Whats the difference between a ham and gammon?

I am looking at ordering food from M&S for Christmas.

I want a ham (or at least I think it a ham I want) to have with chutneys, pickles, cheese etc.

But I am confused by the ham and gammon joints.

What is the difference between a ham and a gammon?

Ham is already cooked/dry cured so ready to eat, whereas a gammon joint will be raw. They are basically the same once cooked!

So this isn't cooked?

It is in that picture but you would buy it raw.

It doesn't look cooked as there are cooking instructions with it.

Well it had cooking instructions so it's raw when you buy it

No, but it comes with cooking instructions, as per the link you have given. Enjoy!
