I think so but dp is a bit Hmm at the lack of BIG stuff so wondered if I'm being tight.....

A dollys pram each to replace broken (and too small for dd1) ones

a new beanbag each (we have one....they scrap like cat and dog over it) in different colours

Crafty bits and pieces from 99p shop (big pad of paper, 'wobbly' scissors, glittery and metallic gel pens, glitter glues, xmas stampers if they have anything like that)

Hello Kitty onesie each

Some bits of clothes they need & a Christmas jumper.

Selection box each.

And a small stocking filled with bits and bobs I've picked up through the year and a couple of chocolatey bits.

Surely that's plenty?! Confused (Both have birthdays not long after Christmas so we were going to get a tablet of some sort for dd1 and an Innotab 3 for dd2 along with a trip to Build a Bear each)

Sounds fine to me.

I think you have the big and small stuff sorted but I'd be inclined to add a couple of medium sized presents too. Not that you need to but if you were looking to add that's what I'd say is missing. You know like dolls or larger craft sets...well done for getting so much done thoughi daren't!

the TV adverts have started this weekend and just this week my dds have added about 10 things to their list! Kids of 6&3 are more impressed with amount I find so unless they specifically ask for tablet I'd consider scrapping them and go for more of the other stuff with the money instead? But that's just thinking of what I know my dds would like.. Obviously you know best what your kids want :)

Atm they have an Innotab 1 between them but dd2 tends to hog it a bit & dd1 ends up playing on either the laptop or one of our phones. They would be for birthdays anyway rather than Christmas. Plus dd1 is starting to get the odd bit of homework now involving some sort of internet research, I thought it would maybe useful for that if she had access to her own device. They'd definitely be used plenty.

I may have a think on a middle sized present for them each....not entirely sure what though.

DP says he's going to get them a surprise present each as well, I'll suggest new dollys or something along those lines.

sounds fine, I'd be tempted to add a couple of books each maybe?

cece · 05/10/2013 15:57

How about a board game each?

Captainbarnacles1101 · 05/10/2013 16:00

sounds good. and thanks for the tip re innotab. :-)

gingerpinz · 05/10/2013 16:01

I think that sounds perfect! Mine who are just slightly younger and both boys are getting a similar amount, I think...

DS1- two biggish lego sets, a lego book, Tom & Jerry dvd set, lego duvet cover.

DS2- Duplo train, Imaginext Fire Station, a book, lego duvet cover.

They will also both have a stocking of various bits & pieces and chocolate and then one bigger thing each from Santa.

board games & books would be good, we've been buying a few games lately & the bookshelf needs a good sort out of stuff they've outgrown

The book people do some very good ( very good priced ) books :)

I try and think of things that they will play with on Christmas Day ( and the rest of the year ). I have bought dd2 a couple lego sets as I know they will keep her busy over Christmas, I'm trying to think of something she will play with all year ( may e a puppet theatre ) and then she will get some craft kits a onesie and some kind of musical instrument ( maybe a big xylophone ) as she loves making a noise.

If your dd's are going to play a lot with the dolls prams then you don't need to buy them much else, maybe some books or some dolls clothes?

ziggiestardust · 05/10/2013 18:50

That's fine.

I have got the following for my 3yo DS: Playmobil Police station, helicopter, Police car and bank, Thomas take n play Tidmouth sheds playset, 4 take n play engines, Thomas pyjamas, 2 Thomas DVD's, a selection box and a couple of books.

All wrapped up; it doesn't look like a lot. But I'm not getting sucked into that trap! He has 2 sets of incredibly generous godparents, grandparents and numerous friends. Plus his birthday is next week and he'll get spoiled rotten then, too.

Not only that; but you've got to have somewhere to put it all.

If you're bothered about numbers of gifts, do a stocking with pants, socks (pretty designs), a sticker book, a hat and gloves set or something, and a chocolate Santa. The clothing items double up as useful things, and from what I can gather; it's the sight of wrapped presents and the act of unwrapping they actually enjoy.

lucysmam · 05/10/2013 19:03

Socks, knicks and vests already waiting to go in stockings Grin ...along with other bits and bobs.

It was more dp was looking at me like Hmm Confused when I told him what I'd thought would be good. He has given up now.....he'll be working & not shopping for it or clearing out stuff to make room so has said he'll leave me & my plans alone Grin

He is still going to get them each a surprise himself though, and I'll get a couple of board game type games to add to the pile that we can all play and a couple of books each.

I think with those additions it will be more than enough and hopefuly you wont have that panciked feeling I have, when its all wrapped under the tree, of sit I have got them too much - again* ! Given there are nearly 3 months to go you might find other things they need anyway that you could add if you wanted.

Things like chocolate money, a tangerine and a magazine (never get them normally unless form granny) go in ours...

You could always hide a small pressie (one of the books say) that an elf has dropped for them to find later if pressie wrapping is over too quickly but I have a weird compulsion not to dissapoint the dc around christmas. We dont do this because they normally get presents from family too and infact they get too much. Have told them Santa needs to cut back this year because of the rising population Grin
