I love wrapping presents and usually go for bright paper with lots of ribbons and bows but I'm struggling to find any I really love. What paper are you using? What do you use to decorate your presents?

I want to do the pom pom one!

Where's the cheapest place to get brown paper from?

Barbeasty · 04/10/2013 20:21

I've ordered this

I've had a similar style from them before, so I hope it's as good. Just don't get the parcel/red pack. Really thin and the red colour comes off on any corners etc.

Liking the idea of edible gift tags, but I'm thinking it would only really work on presents that are being opened at home.

Just got a huge roll from Costco. The last one took 3 years to use up

IsaacCox · 04/10/2013 21:11

I've ordered my stuff today. I got 10 of this paper (buy 10 items get the cheapest free)

2 lots of these tags

Ink pad

This stamp for on one side of the tags

This stamp for the other side

This stamp for somewhere, not sure where yet. Maybe on the jam jar labels

3 of these strings. I'm thinking of maybe getting a bowl of really good red food gel and some water and soaking the string in it to dye it? Don't know if it'd work or look good, but it's worth a shot.

Think I'll get some ribbons too. I'm so excited for wrapping the presents now Grin

I've bought a big roll of Costco's double sided wrap. It is bright purple, with Santa, a pension and a snowmsn in it. I bought it because it is so thick and I am de-boxing and pre-assembling dds presents and the keyboard and stool I've got for my neice so that they can open and play straight away. Totally stealing the edible tag too!

I like the ribbons from this place:

I always buy costco for presents off FC or for children (very thick with gridlines on the back or double sided) but agree it lasts forever! And brown paper with bells, thin ribbon, butchers twine, cut out snowflakes etc for adult presents. I love wrapping!

anchovies · 05/10/2013 20:57

oh and luggage tags with snowflakes punched out

Stuff I got last year from paper d'art.

I'll buy it when it is on offer. Ie. in DECEMBER.

anchovies · 05/10/2013 21:01

I did lots of these last year, they made me so happy!

professorpoopsnagle · 05/10/2013 21:04

My top tip is to use one pattern of roll for each child (if you run out then use another but basically don't mix between children). Makes playing Father Christmas on Christmas Eve a doddle if you have remembered to write the key down somewhere

NewBlueShoesToo · 05/10/2013 21:09

FC is always tissue paper here. Very easy to wrap and unwrap and it's one a tradition.
On my keenest year I colour coded presents going to different places, ie in-laws, godchildren. That level of organisation will probably never happen again here.
