so weve done budget for kids, but how much do you spend on other members of the family like nieces and nephews, sils and bils, pils, your own parents and siblings?

I have a feeling i am quite stingy,i dont tend to spend more than 20 pound per niece/nephew (in law, dont have any kids on my side)but there are twelve of them!

ALso have about the same for in laws and pil,i probably spend 30-40 on my mum dad and brother.

My rough budget is:

Mum x 2 £50
Fil £20
Sisters x 2 £30
BIL £25
Granny £30
Grandparents and uncle £20
Uncle and aunty £25

I am spending £50 each on our 2 nephews this year. I wouldn't usually spend that much, but BIL and sil have had a horrible split this year so would like to get something extra special.

DS £50 main present + £30 stocking
DH £50
DM £50
DBro £50
FIL £10
SIL1 £10
SIL2 £10
BIL £10
Friend £20
Friend2 £20
Friends children x 5 @ £10 each = £50

I make that £360 in total.

I spend more on DM and DBro as there are only 3 of us and they spend a lot on DS, so I want to treat them!

The inlaws can't stand me and either don't buy me anything or buy me token gifts of less than £10 , so this year I shall be following suit instead if going out of my way to please them. When they have children, I will suggest buying only for children!

I've whittled down the friends I buy presents for to two, these two friends are sweet and always buy lots of presents for us. I'd like to buy presents for all of my friends, but it would get too expensive and we've all agreed not to. I buy birthday presents for another couple of friends though and that's spread through the year even though we don't do Xmas presents.

I love buying presents for my friends children, it's fun choosing the presents and if I had more money I could easily spend hundreds on them :)

Our adults are secret Santa with £50 budget each. So DH spends £50 on someone and I spend £50 on someone. I usually then renew a subscription for my DParents for £50 on the quiet, because I bought it for them originally and it gives them pleasure.

So much simpler (and cheaper) than buying for everyone and it lets us all focus on the children.

wow everyone has tiny families!Or maybe we just have a big one.its only going to get bigger too,my brother hasno kids yet, neither does dhs sister, also 2 of his siblings still want more children, and i guess we will have another one at some point!

All good fun though!

It really depends on what I find, I don't have a set budget per person. I mainly buy for the kids & my own siblings and dh buys for his. I bought my sister a Cath Kidston notebook one year for £2.50 and it is usually a lot more than that.

I mainly do food hampers for families as that cuts down on buying individual gifts.

I have been eyeing some good bargains on this thread
