Non-alcoholic cocktail hamper

Posting under Christmas as it might be an idea for others, but this is for birthday gifts. I have to buy birthday presents for a number of girls who are 15/16. Thought of making some non-alcoholic cocktail hampers for them, with some recipes, umbrellas, reusable ice cubes, maybe naice plastic martini shaped glasses. But a) not sure if this is a naff idea (please be honest) and b) if not, what else I would put in

Oops premature send... So any thoughts/ideas for extras, or even just to tell me not a good idea, would be appreciated

You do know they'll just take the hamper and add friends and alcohol. Right?

lilolilmanchester · 26/09/2013 21:40

Well it was partly cos they are all starting to get interested in alcohol that I thought some non-alcoholic cocktail ideas might divert them. But you've made me think it's probably going to backfire. Back to the drawing board :-)

Jars of maraschino cherries
Freeze dried lemon or lime slices (got these in Tesco)

Straws
Those little umberellas
Why not add a glass rather than plastic cocktail glass? So much nicer and won't get scratched

Add some fruit juices and syrups

Thanks 70s, these are the sorts of ideas I was after, but am now worried that it will just tempt them to add slugs of their parents' alcohol, perhaps not as good an idea as I first thought

Am about to knock this idea on the head but before I do would welcome other thoughts

The other idea is to go down the smoothie/ milkshake route? Less easy to add alcohol to but the same principle. Possibly get naice smoothie/ Sundae
Glasses, straws, syrups, various chocolate bars, various sprinkles/ edible glitter/ sprinkle stars/ nice hot choc powder to mix/ vanilla essence/ food dye etc

Just a thought

Maybe coffee/ iced tea aswell?

lilolilmanchester · 28/09/2013 16:26

Good idea nanny thank you (although I will confess to adding slugs of vodka to smoothies myself before now :-)
