Stocking fillers for 3yo DD please help

My DD will turn three a month before Christmas so I have most of her big presents (meaning not pyjamas hair clips etc) sorted but I'm at a loss as to what to fill her stocking with.

I picked up a 9 piece plastic jewellery set in primark for £1.50 the other day but can't have that rattling alone at the bottom! ??

Thanks in advance.

How about a rolled up Peppa Pig/ CBeebies etc magazine (and the tat that comes taped to the front could be wrapped up as a separate present Grin)

I always put some very interesting looking but plainish biscuits, and a little box of cereal in stockings- they usually ate at a least a bit of them and it meant they were more able to cope with the incredibly early mornings and the chocolate

Thanks for all the suggestions I'm adding to my list as I go. I know it's early but with her birthday end of November and the massive family I have, I want to not have a single panicky day.

Magazines in stockings are already a tradition in my family, so if princess/toy story do a bumper Christmas one I'll get that. If not cbeebies or peppa Smile

Love the plain biscuit/cereal idea!! Another family tradition is panettone for breakfast so DD will get some nutrients before we go to my mums and she eats her weight in gold coins HmmHmm

My dd will be 4 just after Christmas. So far in her stocking she has: lip balm, solid perfume (only because her older sisters have one and it was £1 in H&M), hair band, twistable crayons, notebook, lego mini figure, choc coins, ear muffs, minnie mouse necklace, charm bracelet, rings, stickers. I am going to get a tube of sweets and a magazine to add to it. Just pick things up when I see them, most things have been £1 or less and from Primark, H&M and Claire's.

Thanks for posting about the plui FixItUp . I've been looking for a bath toy for dd2's stocking (dd1 is getting bath dogs) and it's ideal!

In my excitement over the plui I forgot to post my list! Dd1 will be not quite 3 and is getting:

Happyland emergency people figures
Lion bath mitt
Bath dogs (little plastic dogs with patches of dirt you can 'wash off' but reappear when dry)
Chris and Pui CD
Soft toy dragon
Mini books
Choc coins
Satsuma

£10 for a bath toy? You're having a laugh. Can only assume you work for them.

I don't get the point of stockings, what on earth is wrong with buying two or three nice presents.
I see no rational reason for wasting money on a load of tat that will get binned by new year.
It's no bloody wonder people think Christmas is expensive.

Did you ever open a stocking as a child doorchair? Did you experience that excitement?

No never, my gran used to put some tat in a bucket but in all all honesty even as a child it was just like having a bucket of happy meal toys or a kinder surprise. Useless tat that nobody wants.

I think that explains a lot doorchairsettee.

You carry on do what makes you happy, and let others get on with what makes them and their children happy.

FWIW I loved opening my stocking. I can still remember the butterflies of excitement of waking up and realising Father Christmas had been. The stocking was opened on my parents bed at the crack of dawn and I loved every bit of it, including the satsuma! For you it might be tat, to me it is magic and wonder.

Op, in my 3yo dd1's stocking will be:

Peppa pig knickers
Pepper Pig vests
Despicable me sticker book
glowsticks
Tatty teddy colouring book
Gruffalo colouring pencils in a lovely tin
Wooden Harmonica
National History sea creature viewer
2 Aquadoodle pens
Chocolate coins
Lego mini figure
Obligatory satsuma Grin

I paid a bit less than that in canadian dollars at a shop but no, I don't work for them.

Hmm

So I thought I'd pass on that I popped into The Works today looking it something else but there are really good offers on things like Annuals, other books, stickers, creative sets, pocket money type toys. I had to restrain myself & promise to come back later in the week wen I had thought about it more!
