I am getting a toy kitchen for DS age 2 this year. I would prefer a wooden one. I don't mind a second hand one, and I don't mind a pink one as my FIL and my stepdad are both prof

Sorry! They are both professional carpenters so they can paint it. My budget is approx £40 to £50. What do people recommend? Thank you

We have this without the top bit. Comes in on your budget, you don't need to do anything and it has lasted us four or five years and still looks as good as new.

Can't remember how much it cost but ds3 has the ikea one and would recommend.

Brio one is good.

We got a gorgeous one from Asda last year, wooden, sturdy and not too huge, think it was around £35

The ikea one is good, you could get the main part for your budget and add the extra top bit later if you liked.

Otherwise I'd keep an eye out on ebay or gumtree.

The DC's nursery had the Ikea one. I know DS built it while he was there, approx 2.6yrs ago and it's still going strong now.

The Ikea one is £65 (down from £90) at the moment - have just bought it and can't wait to give it to my DD for her 2nd birhgday on Sunday :)

We got this last year www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0073BVQYI
At the moment it's 75 BUT Amazons prices fluctuate amd we paid 45. It's great, not too big but not too small and very sturdy.

We got the ikea one for my DD last Christmas (she was 2.9 then). We decided to only get the base and then get her the top later. However just getting the base has been the best decision ever! It's in the corner of the room but pulled slightly away from the wall so she can stand behind it as well as infrint of it. So far it's been used as a kitchen (obviously), a coffee shop (spinning the tap round to become the milk frother), a shop (putting a toy till on the cooker and using it as a counter), a doctor/dentist surgery and probably loads of other things that I can't remember at the moment! Grin

Not sure if something like this is any good. www.younghouselove.com/2012/01/claras-christmas-kitchen/
The kitchen is just lovely and a great project for someone who has the skills.
