Steam Railway Santa Specials in the South East

I'm looking at The Romney Hythe Dymchurch, or The Bluebell, or The Kent East Sussex Railway for a christmas experience.
I can't decide.
Romney's winning with it's snow machine - are they good?

Anyone done any of them? What did you think?

Bluebell Santa Special is amazing but can't comment on the rest.

The Watercress Line from Alton to Alresford has one, but Hampshire maybe too far west for you?

We do the Romney and Hythe Santa special every year and think its great. Gifts from Father Christmas are always really good quality and my boys love going into the model railway museum after we have done the train. This is included in the price of the ticket I think, I haven't done the others but highly recommend this one .

We did the Bluebell Railway last year with 3yo DS and newborn DD and really enjoyed it. The Victorian fair at the destination station sold roast chestnuts so I was happy :o

Thankyou
Well I've seen one bad review of the KESR on that Tripadviser, but am leaning more towards the other 2 anyway.
Probably the Romney one.

The Romney one is lovely!

The presents are great and the DCs get a party bag of food in the cafe and the adults a mince pie and mulled wine, om nom nom Smile

Said snow machine is very magical, get that camcorder at the ready!

We've sort of exhausted it now after 3 years but it was very special while it lasted.

Oh, I love the RHDR, we had a great time on the Santa special last year. The gifts were good, and it is so well organised. I grew up in Tenterden, and while we did theKesr once, we made the trek to the Marsh many more times. While that is not recent experience, I have some very happy memories. Grin
