Where can I buy an enormous Teddy Bear?

I wasn't sure where to post this question, but then I thought of you nutters! I'm looking for a gigantic but tasteful Teddy to buy for a friend of mine who has just had her first baby after many many years of miscarriage heartache. I wanted to go all out, but am not sure where to find a nice one? Any ideas?

We have a 5foot one from Costco, we bought it just before our son was born last year, we love it, DS loves it, he sits in between its legs. Well worth the 20 quid or so it was.

Oh dear god, don't do it unless you are sure they are going to be overjoyed for ever that this giant stuffed monstrosity takes up so space in their home!!

I second a small, well made, collectible but gorgeous bear. Please don't make the mistake of thinking that size is important in the bear stakes...

You can spend a shedload of money on something much smaller and easier to live with if you need to make a grand gesture.

My mother gave us three of the damned things. In varying stages of massiveness. As a set.

They have all been shipped off to the charity shop at different stages. This stuff gathers dust, is a nightmare for anyone with space or allergy issues, and they are a total pita to have to walk round/ find a chair or shelf big enough, and then cope with the thirty or so other stuffed toys that any baby is invariably presented with.

Bah humbug. I have sacks of them. Giant stuffed animals seem like such a great idea, but after the wow wears off, they are a giant pita!!

I have some largish (only 2ft) teddies which DD is very attached to. One she won at a school fayre and has a cigarette burn on it. I have tried to send them to the charity shops several times. DD always manages to find and rescue them. We also have a plague of soft toys under the bed.

You can't go wrong with Baby clothes from Gap.

What about a build a bear with a saying/ sound chip in it?

My DS (now 8!) had one for his first birthday with a giggling sound - because it sounded just like him when he laughed! Over the years people have bought 'outfits' accessories for it to reflect his interests and clothing styles. (he has about 5 different ones!)
He still loves dressing it up and his favourite 'outfit' is the skateboard with knee and elbow pad and helmet!

We have the costco one linked to above (white bear on ebay) and it is well loved. It only cost £19 also! We had to restuff his legs recently because everyone likes to lie on his legs.
