Nigella's brining method

Ok, having the in-laws this year, so putting pressure on myself to make it all just tickety-boo!

I've bought Nigella's Christmas recipe book last week and, having read it cover-to-cover, it seems brining is the route to a succulent feast. However, having ordered a ready stuffed turkey, have I ruled out this method? Can I brine an already stuffed turkey?

I wouldn't. The stuffing would soak up the brine like a sponge, and become all salty. I wouldn't worry about brining-just cook your turkey according to the instructions, baste regularly, don't overcook and make sure you rest it before carving. It will be delish!

I would destuff it before brining and then restuff it before cooking ( have just brined a duck and it was very moist!)

Would imagine it would ruin the stuffing. So I'd say no.

No. As others have said, stuffing will be, well, stuffed.

You can't really use the turkey juice for gravy either (well you can but not much) as it is really salty.

I've done the brining turkey a couple of times and it is really good but I also do a regular stuffed bird (not in the same meal obv).

ok, no brining this year - thanks very much for all the advice x
