How much more do you spend on groceries at Christmas?

Just wondering really. Am doing an online shop for delivery tomorrow, as it's a week since my last shop. But I also have a Christmas shop booked for Sunday. Normally I spend between £80-£90 a week. (that includes all food, cat food, general toiletries, household stuff and wine). Both shops this week are coming in around £110, with only 4 days in-between them! - There's extra wine, and things I don't normally buy like nice biscuits, cheeses, ice creams, couple of boxes of chocolates, pickles, nuts, crisps and some party nibbles stuff.

I won't be getting any extras from elsewhere, apart from turkey crown and gammon from local butcher.

Do you spend a lot more on groceries at Christmas, or does your shopping bill remain roughly the same? Just wondering how extravagant I'm being Xmas Smile?

I keep trying to cut things out. But do I like brie and poppy seeds crackers and shortbread and the like at Christmas!

I have 2 shops also coming this week, one with the turkey. One is £100, the other £180, and a separate fruit and veg order around £18. I have bought most of the alcohol already. We do however have a party for 40 on Saturday, 8 for Christmas Day and 16 for Boxing Day.

I usually spend around £100 pw.

Oh and I need to go to Waitrose tomorrow to collect some salmon etc, about another £40.

I think my food shop will top the 300 this week, usually about 140. But I am going to go through it again to see if there is anything I can take out, cos that is rather alot!

I shopped at the weekend and it came in at £95, top end of my average shop. Stupidly going again at the weekend (missed out on delivery slot this year) and hoping it won't be much more than £125, but I suspect because I'm actually in a supermarket it will be Xmas Smile

Also spent another £30 in Lidl at the weekend getting some xmas stock!

Spend £45pw normally and about £100 for the Christmas shop. But I buy one or two bits each week starting in October so probably another £30 or so in dribs and drabs.

I do my main shop monthly with top ups for fresh things, milk etc. usually averages out at about £40 a week, and hasn't changed over Xmas.

I save my nectar points all year for the extra Christmas food, crackers and booze. It comes to about £120.
