Help. Ideas for stocking-fillers for teenage DSs'

My DSs (15 & 13) were horrified when I said I wasn't doing Santa stockings this year . I have been a bit bah humbug about Xmas this year and feel guilty so although I have left it so late, I am going to do stockings for them but am completely uninspired what to put in them apart from chocolates.
Historically they always got something to keep them busy until at least 6:30am Xmas morning so DH and I could have a lie in before present opening on Xmas morning.
Any ideas creative Mnetters? Xmas Hmm

River Island are doing great little things - a box of fake moustaches at €5, three little leather male bracelets €5, knitted beanie €7-10, inflatable girlfriend (not porno style!) €5, ever reliable body shop for body wash, face wash (Boots is also a good option), pack of socks (you've got to get socks at Christmas), a pair of boxers at H&M, chocolate Santa, shaving gel, hair gel - just stuff that they might have to get out of their allowance or ask you for. But wrap EVERYTHING.

That's what the 13 year old and 17 year old are getting from Santa at our house!Grin

I think some of the stuff oldest DS needs for DofE will make good stocking fillers now that Chinup has inspired me. Younger DS is trickier

aww we got stockings until about 21.
DM put those ready mixed cans of g&ts or vodka and cokes or mini bottles of fizz for us as a treat for christmas day from about 15+ but it depends on your attitude to alcohol.

Nice smellys, stationary, topshop/dorothy perkins/new look undies or socks definitely some chocolate coins. A satsuma or two. Something bulky like some nice pillow cases or pjamas if you have big stockings (we just had my dads old welly socks so not a lot to fill!)get useful (but nice) stuff that you might buy for them through they year for school etc

hatgirl · 17/12/2012 23:16

sorry just seen that they are boys not girls! swap topshop for topman/ next burtons etc and G&Ts/ fizz for a nice ale or a can of beer or jack daniels and coke. Also fill it with a puzzle/ toy instead of sensible girl things.

I got some bits and bobs here for my 12 and 11 year old boys:

Knives/multi tools
sporks
Silly Socks - look like baseball boots
Mini Hobbit lego figures
Hair wax
sweeties/chocolate
rubber band planes

Thank you so much. Great ideas. The happy puzzle are still delivering in time for Xmas so I think I might get them each a 3d puzzle. hatgirl not ready for alcoholic presents but some other fan ideas.

How about those gloves you can buy which still let you use touchscreen phones? I've seen them in Home Bargains, and I'm sure amazon will have them.

There is another thread in this year's Christmas collection.

I have bought DS1 (13) a range of bits including obv chocs, pants, socks, shampoo, shower gel, but also an SD card he wanted, a survival bracelet as recc on MN, a calendar.

How abotu new case for mobile phone, Lego mini figure, cheap DVD (some nice ones in the £1 shop!), stationery etc.

amck5700 · 18/12/2012 10:11

Clary, think that was me with the survival/emergency bracelets on another thread- might have sparked a bit of business for someone :)

IAmTellingSanta · 18/12/2012 13:09

An update. Santa sacks are now complete. They each got a DVD - Superman box set and Spud
Staples are selling these erasers with the elements from the periodic table, so a few of those,
new colouring pencils for art
socks
Terrys choc orange
Jellybeans in a silly dispenser
leather bracelets
football team calendar

All bought and wrapped by 12:30

Yay, thanks for the help. Now I am having tea and Xmas Biscuit as a reward

cocoachannel · 18/12/2012 13:32

I can sympathise with them, I'm not getting a sticking this year for the first time. I am 33 Xmas Blush still hoping Mum will relent

cocoachannel · 18/12/2012 13:32

Sticking. Stocking!!! Xmas Grin

blackcurrants · 18/12/2012 13:56

I know it sounds random but I really loved reading this thread. I sometimes think the stocking is the best part of Christmas and I've got 2 sons on the horizon (one, one due any day!) and for some reason I like imagining doing their stockings for years and years to come. So, erm, from one heavily pregnant and hormonal MNer .. happy Christmas :)

IAmTellingSanta · 18/12/2012 15:00

Merry Xmas. Enjoy your lovely boys, the hatched one and the nearly hatched one. Brew

HousewifefromBethlehem · 18/12/2012 15:02

Fart putty.

Totally silly but keeps them (and dads) entertained for ages.

£2 wilkinsons
