This ranges from people planning weeks in advance an amazing thing to people having eaten their Christmas Dinner so late they need nothing. We will need something to eat at some point and so i was wondering what we should be offering our party of 15 people!

Smoked salmon sandwiches

At about 9pm in front of the telly.

NotSpartacus · 15/12/2012 17:49

Leftovers.
Plus a ham, pickles etc.

BellaVita · 15/12/2012 17:50

Pork pie, pickles, cold cuts.

Tigresswoods · 15/12/2012 17:53

Cold turkey or ham sarnies here usually it seems in front of a Pirates of the Caribbean film!

EdithWeston · 15/12/2012 17:55

Honestly? Twiglets straight from the packet and a whole box of Quality Street.

With guests; add sandwiches, satsumas and nuts.

VivaLeBeaver · 15/12/2012 18:03

We are having bacon rolls for brekkie, and christmas lunch at my mums (who is a feeeeeder!) which will probably be about 3. I imagine DS1 will be eating biscuits and treats DS2 will be 4 days old so will be eating milk, but DP and I will be having lovely picky bits - pate smoked salmon parma ham cheeses and pickles - if we fancy anything, id imagine at about 9 no doubt! (Calorific!)

YuletideDollie · 15/12/2012 18:23

Party style food - sausage rolls, sausages, mini canapés etc
A cheese board and crackers and cold meat crisps etc, and leftover cheesecake, deserts from dinner all laid out about 6pm and we all just pick at it till bed time

Startail · 15/12/2012 18:24

We always have a buffet on Christmas eve, Chinese party bits, ham, little sausages, smoked salmon, prawns, what ever looks fun in the supermarket freezer, salad.

Always loads left for Christmas day tea.

BellaVita · 15/12/2012 18:38

I always add a bunch of grapes to a cheese board.

We will probably nibble on the leftover cheeseboard from the afternoon in the evening too.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 15/12/2012 18:42

Croissants for breakfast.

Turkey roast for lunch

Christmas pudding for tea

But if I was.entertaining I would probably do minimal fuss and waste buffet nibbles.

FredWorms · 15/12/2012 18:47

Quality Street Grin

RockingAroundTheBloodyXmasTree · 15/12/2012 18:49

pate
crackers
crusty bread
party type food eg mini sausage rolls sausages spring rolls
pringles
cold turkey and stuffing and cranberry sauce rolls
choc pudding things from m and s

lilolilmanchester · 15/12/2012 19:47

we don't. We have something like croissants with coffee in bed whilst opening stockings; full English breakfast; main meal around 4... have a break.... then Christmas pudding early evening. Cheese and crackers/pate and bread available for anyone who wants it

But we have a) older teenagers and b) just family

If I was entertaining, would go with cheese, pate, naice bread, crackers, maybe pork pies, a big bowl of fruit, Christmas cake and mince pies, big bowl of chocolates (celebration/heroes etc).

PrincessMononoke · 15/12/2012 19:50

Lots of Wine cheese and crackers, cold meats and rolls, pigs in blankets if they're any left and Chocolate and mince pies.

PrincessMononoke · 15/12/2012 19:50

There are Blush

NotMostPeople · 15/12/2012 19:53

Turkey sandwiches, tis the law.

JudithOfThePeaceAndGoodwill · 15/12/2012 20:08

Turkey sandwiches on crusty white bread with real butter and salt and pepper. Cold stuffing possibly on the side. For some reason I don't even know myself, Christmas day is the only day of the year I eat Pringles. Therefore, there must be a small pile of those on the plate, too.

In theory, this will be followed by a mince pie. In reality, it's a chocolate orange. If I've eaten mine already, DD is still young enough that she won't miss hers. DS will notice if his is gone, sadly.

CMOTDibbler · 15/12/2012 20:15

Sausage rolls, trifle and chocolate log

DamnDeDoubtance · 15/12/2012 20:32

We are having lunch at my mums for one then we get mil and take her to ours for tea.

I am gonna brine and roast a turkey christmas eve and cook a gammon.

Christmas day tea will be turkey, ham and some winter slaw, bread, pickles etc.

Christmas cake if anyone has room.

I am aiming for simple and tasty.

oldraver · 15/12/2012 20:32

We have dinner around 5/6 so need for 'tea' as such

DoubleMum · 15/12/2012 20:35

Turkey & stuffing/ham sandwiches, cheese & biscuits, dips (it's the law), mince pies, christmas cake.
Not necessarily all of the above.

DamnDeDoubtance · 15/12/2012 20:37

And lots of cheese, happy cheesemas one and all. Xmas Grin

OohMrDarcy · 15/12/2012 20:38
