Presents for teachers

Firstly, do I buy only for ds' specific teacher, or all the TA's as well? Last year when ds was in FS1 I bought chocolates for his 2 teachers. Now he is in FS2 and his previous teachers are still very involved with the class, plus his current teacher and about 4/5 TA's. So do I buy for them all? I sort of feel the TA's probably get overlooked a bit.

Secondly, what do I buy? I want something a bit different from the usual chocolates and wine. At the end of term I got big kilner jars full of cookie mixture layered up with a ribbon and recipe on it. I'd like to get something a bit imaginitive.

Hmm tricky. I always like to get something for the TAs too. What about a little hamper of goodies for the staffroom - nice tea/coffee, biscuits etc - for them all to share?

I'm struggling a bit this year too - 3 dcs at school and with job shares, TAs etc I seem to have 8 people to buy for!

In the past I've done little posies of flowers, prosecco, personalised notebooks (from Funky Pigeon), pretty tealight holders and handwarmers (got them on buy 1 get 1 1/2 price so they were less than a fiver each)

I'm sure there are other threads on here re teacher presents so might be worth searching back a bit?

Thanks I'll have a look through previous threads. Thanks for your ideas too.

I'm a teacher and honestly a home made card is the best present . If you really want to buy something a tin of chocolates or biscuits with a nice message on for the staff room is also lovely

We are getting DS's nursery teacher and assistant a box of jumbo Pritt Sticks (to share) and a homemade bird seed tree ornament and card (each). The Pritt Sticks aren't really for them of course, but his teacher mentioned that their Pritt Sticks are so rationed that she generally ends up buying more out of her own money, so at least it should save her some money!

We just do handmade cards. The first year that DD was in nursery I counted up the number of presents we would need for all the teachers/TAs/playgroup staff/extra-curricula staff for both the children and it would have come to 14 teachers in total. So even at just a fiver each that would mean £70 Xmas Shock. That's when we got the glitter out and let them go mad with that!

I look out for jewellery reduced in supermarkets, can be some nice stuff. This year I bought bracelets from Next outlet shop for £2 each!
