Best activity table for 1 year old?

lemontwist · 08/12/2012 19:12

My littlest DS will be one just a week before christmas and I was thinking an activity table would suit him quite well. He's cruising quite well and so somthing he could stand at to play with would be good. Other presents hes getting from family are mainly things he'll grow into so I really want to get him something that woukd be suitable now.
Any other suggestions welcomed Thanks

Activity tables are great, they get a lot of use out of them and they are good for them to hold onto while they are wobbly. Depending how much you want to spend I have seen some cheapy ones at lidl for a tenner for an activity cube or some lovely 6 sided ones eco friendly versions for 90.....I dont know if its the kind of thing where you get what you pay for...

Thanks. Was thinking £30-40 max. Don't have a lidl near here. Will keep looking. Anyone got the Leapfrog Animal Adventure one or the Brightstarts having a ball?

We had the Leapfrog Learn & Groove table last Christmas - DD was almost 1.

She still uses it now and it's been a brilliant gift. The legs come off so it's easy to take places if you're staying with grandparents or similar. I think we've had to change the batteries twice which isn't bad considering how much it is used.

ah, I see our table is no longer made and the Animal Adventure replaces it.
It was easily one of her best presents so if the new one is anywhere near as good, then go for it.

Thanks garlicgirl. I did have my eye on that one but it seems to be suddenly unavailable everywhere because of the newer (more expensive, grrr) version.

have you considered looking for a 2nd hand one? they are the sort of thing that are still in great condition when they're outgrown. There are some great selling pages on facebook if you're on there or ebay. My ds had the learn and groove table at that age and it was really good.

There are quite a few of the learn and groove tables on eBay just now if you don't mind second hand. Worth a look? DS loved his, and you might pick up one in great condition.

Just put a couple on my watch list. None near me but postage not too bad. Fingers crossed.
