Hello,

I don't have any children, so have no idea!

My friend has arranged to give some presents to children who for whatever reason won't have anything on Christmas Day. As someone who loves children but can't have them, I wanted to help.

She has allocated me a little girl of 3, but what should I get her? baring in mind this'll probably be her only pressie from Santa.

Thank you for you help :)

Mine loves Disney princesses and dressing up the best! Also loves art and books. She likes dressing dolls up and is getting things like a sort of girls world head thing, a tinkerbell dress which is all she's asked for, she likes small fiddly dolls with lots of a accessories and they're all into hello kitty at nursery. It's a lovely thing to do!

Budget? Children of that age get lots of value out of little figures they can make talk and play.

Yes totally agree they do, and they don't have to be 'proper' eg Disney or Barrie mine loves £2 jobbies from morrisons

Shopping trolley for £10 has had lots of abuse use. On offer in the '2 for £15' deal at Argos if you and your friend both wanted something from the Chad Valley range. The cash register with working calculator also went down well from there.

I don't know your budget but my 3 yr old would love any of these:

A doll with a dressing up outfit (Baby Born or Baby Annabell but can find cheaper versions)
A dolls buggy or pushchair
Any dress up costume, princesses or fairies preferred
A bag and purse set
Cash register and food set
Pretend hoover
Mini pretend kitchen
Toy puppy/kitten with carry bag and grooming kit
Peppa Pig Fun Phonics game or the Vtech Apple Phonics game

Stocking fillers of hair clips, bobbles etc. Little wooden and plastic beaded necklace and bracelet sets (£1 in Primark!) are ADORED!

Wanted to add, I did the same last year, a friend was really struggling to keep things going under awful circumstances and a group of us clubbed together to help.

Between us we bought the DCs a present each, the meat for xmas dinner, the veg for xmas dinner, the pudding for xmas dinner and a big box of Roses chocolates for them to eat in front of the TV that evening and an Asda voucher to help her through until the January payday.

Our friend cried a lot when we turned up with all of it but it was my favourite memory of last Christmas and I loved knowing that whilst I was having a lovely Christmas with mine we'd made sure our friend and her DC could have a lovely day too. She'd have done the same for any of us.

What a lovely thing to do OP.

My 3yo DD is pretty much exactly as Flippin has written!

Her favourite toys are her kitchen, peppa pig jjigsaws and little figures, doll (she has the ELC doll) and push chair etc.

I think a 3yo girl would get a lot of use out of a doll/pushchair/dolls clothes type present for a long time. They are also not easily broken.

She also loves colouring books and pens.

I just asked my dd what her favourite toy is and she said her doll actually she said her advent calendar first of all!
