ideas for my sis and her boyfriend

I thought I had Christmas sorted but the present I was going to get my sister and her boyfriend is now not an option. I am out of ideas.

They are in their 30s, both very sporty and outdoorsy but have all their sporting equipment, camping equipment etc. I thought of an adventure day, theatre tickets etc but they've had all that off me before.

They are getting married next year but aren't doing a big white wedding.

Help!

£80 tops for both presents, preferably a combined present but separate if needs be.

A voucher for dinner at a nice restaurant?

TotallyEggFlipped · 30/11/2012 15:30

Go Ape vouchers?

healstorturepeople · 30/11/2012 15:41

voucher for dinner sounds nice. Do you think someone who isn't struggling for money would appreciate this? They are lucky to have a good wage between them (unlike me!)

I like the idea of Go Ape but she is scared of heights. Her boyfriend would love it though!

Ok so I've had a think. Please help by adding to my list of possible ideas.

  • a restaurant voucher, as suggested by a kind poster above.
  • a charity gift e.g. oxfam unwrapped.
  • An eco friendly home pack e.g. eco cleaning products etc.
  • clothes.
  • a magazine or newspaper subscription (just not sure which one).

Don't do the cleaning stuff or charity thing

Have they got a DAB radio that they use with batteries for the garden/camping?

Voucher for a photobook

What about vouchers to go segwaying at go ape or for airkix? (indoor skydiving) or zorbing. All great fun

CaipirinhasAllRound · 30/11/2012 17:24

National geographic traveller is a great mag - £16 for a subscription

healstorturepeople · 30/11/2012 17:27

ooo thanks Caipirin. National geographic mag would be perfect. I also like the idea of a voucher for a photobook. They could get one done for their honeymoon pics.

They have a DAB radio but will definitely get the magazine and photo things. Just need a little something else to add to it. Thanks so much for all your help. Great ideas.

Where did you see the national geographic traveller subscription for £16? I can only see if for around £30.

I went on their website, bought it a couple of weeks for my dad
Let me know if you struggle and I'll dig out the website

healstorturepeople · 30/11/2012 17:38

Thanks. I've found it. Different sites were saying different prices. The link to buy it isn't working but I'm guessing it's just a temporary fault so I'll try again tomorrow.

Do you know if it's hard copies you get or an e magazine?

CaipirinhasAllRound · 30/11/2012 17:40

It's hard copies, I get them now. It's one every other month
For the last bit, could you get them a guide book for where they're going on their honeymoon? Where are they going?

healstorturepeople · 30/11/2012 17:41

They don't know where they are going yet! They are rather slow at deciding things. They don't even know where they are getting married yet!

heals, I notice you have now decided on other presents but in answer to your question, yes, I think that even people who are not short of money would enjoy a voucher for a dinner at a nice restaurant. I know I would! Grin

CaipirinhasAllRound · 30/11/2012 17:45

Could you give the mags to the bf, the phonebook voucher as a joint pressie and get your sister a voucher for a facial for before the wedding?

CaipirinhasAllRound · 30/11/2012 17:46

Meant photobook!

DontmindifIdo · 30/11/2012 17:51

Well, if they have a good income and no DCs so can easily just buy 'stuff' they want (and might have a wedding list soon anyway) what about food gifts? You could get a hamper sent. John Lewis has nice ones in your price range.

DontmindifIdo · 30/11/2012 17:54

also, £80 could get something rather good for hte house, could you ask if there's anything in particular they would like? I know not every family likes to be given a list, but you could say you'd like to get a joint gift and wonder if there's anythign they'd like.

Additional thought, do they have a garden? You can get garden centre vouchers.

healstorturepeople · 30/11/2012 18:21

Thanks for all the ideas. Really appreciate it.
