Rummikub or Ingenious or Qwirkle?

Dc are 7 and 8.

Would like something that we can all play together and that dh and I will enjoy rather than grinding our teeth down to stumps with boredom and/or re-explanation of the rules every 3 mins.

Stealth maths experience would be a bonus.

Ability to transport and play in a tent a double bonus.

yes, Ingenious definitely different enough to Qwirkle to bother with, is again about shape matching, but very diferent scoring, and can be tactical in a way that Qwirkle isn't

September - oh yes, we've got that at Mum and Dad's somewhere, we were not bothered either!

Well panda you have probably just cost me £16. Shame on you.

:o Wink

money well spent - make sure you get the 4 player rather than the 2 player (travel) edition! Grin

Qwirkle is a great game. Perfect for 7+. But think I enjoy it more mire than DS! Or download the 'mindfeud' app - same as qwirkle game. Be warned its addictive!!

Yes I'd read the travel version is a bit crap according to amazon reviews! Thanks :)

We love Qwirkle in this house (dc 8 & 6)!

SlubberMistressOfPain · 30/11/2012 19:17

Thanks everyone. Have gone for Qwirkle this year and will probably add Ingeniuos and Rummikub in the next few years.

Out of interest has anyone here played Abalone or Joggle?

Grin Have just bought Mastermind for DS1 for Christmas. The Brainbox games go down a treat here, and only last 10-15 minutes, so can be fitted in whenever you have a spare 15 mins. Great fun and educational too.

Thinktangles from Happy Puzzle is great. Had it last Christmas, sons nearly came to blows over who spotted right card first. They are only 39 and 40, grandchildren played non violently and happily

Another vote for Rummikub, we take it camping and we all love it, DD is 9 and DS 13 so we all play individually, but we did team up with DD when she was younger to play it. They also love Cranium, but DH not so keen on this as it involves acting and other fun stuff!

Yahtzee here too. Great for holidays too, and for tables and addition.

Off to google the others though..
