I need ideas for my 2 yr old ds. Family keep asking me for ideas. I also have a ds - 6 and dd- 4 so we have tonnes of toys so can't think of anything we don't already have!
We have lots of happyland, tonnes of wooden railway and Thomas figures, 100s of books, boxes of musical instruments/shape sorters/ fuzzy felt/ aquadraw/puzzles/cars/peppa pig playsets etc etc

We have all the big toys - kitchen, trampoline, sandpit etc etc

Just have no idea at all, e just had a birthday so exhausted all my limited ideas then (mr tumbles bag, recycling lorry etc)

Dd will be 2.3 at Christmas and we have the same problem!

She's getting
Mr tumble doll
Mr tumble wooden puzzle
Baby annabell
Playmobil 123 zoo
Knitted spider like woolly on woolly and tig - she LOVES that show so will be over the moon! Iwantacampervan knitted it for me.
Play food

What about a funky cyclin helmet? My kids love the Mohican ones!

Craft stuff?

Baking kit?

DialMforMummy · 26/11/2012 14:20

How about useful stuff: bed sheets, lamp, bookshelf, bathrobe, towel.... Or a ticket to Peppa pig's world or something like that.

More Duplo (you can always build BIGGER!)

Art & craft stuff that will get used up.

Favourite character clothes?

jojane · 26/11/2012 14:31

Lots of ideas but we have already got him scooter and helmet from us, we have tonnes of craft stuff (from a failed attempt at toddler craft classes - don't ask), he won't dress up, got lots of duvets/ blankets etc passed down from ds1, he won't at with the duplo as he prefers the lego his siblings are playin with!

contributions to a trust fund ? or whatever they are called?

naturalbaby · 26/11/2012 14:38

My nearly 2 yr old ds3 is getting his own train set - ds1 has a wooden one in his room so we're getting a Chuggington one. Mainly because he sounds so cute when he sings 'Shugginton, shugaghugaghugashuga'.

and a playmobil toddler racing car on a car transporter - like Playmobil but for toddlers.

I might get him a CD player for his room as well.

and at the end of the day he will just want to play with whatever his big brothers are playing with!

Ask family for joint present for all DCs? eg, pantomine tickets, theatre vouchers? Membership of National trust, local home farm etc. Magazine subscriptions?

Marzipanface · 26/11/2012 15:28

How about books?

MysteriousHamster · 26/11/2012 21:40

Something from a TV show he likes but wasn't on when the older kids were little?

Balance bike?

We are getting mine (if this helps): Wooden airport, playmobil, kid's bean bag, road puzzle, humpty dumpty soft toy (he's obsessed with humpty), massive cardboard box (he loves them more than actual things!).

Sorry probably not much help!

Clothilde · 26/11/2012 22:40

An enormous cardboard box filled with balloons.

jojane · 27/11/2012 14:47

Ooh cardboard, good idea, he went to my friends little boys birthday the other week and the all painted a cardboard rocket, they loved it, might see if I can get something similar!
MIL has found some talking Charlie and Lola dolls as he is obsessed with it,
Have seen a Thomas tooth timer but can't remember where so will have to hunt it down!

Home and Bargain or whatever it's called does a fairly cheap cardboard market stall/shop that you can colour in. You can also buy cardboard wendy houses for drawing on online.

Agree with vouchers/theatre tickets/savings. Why not a DVD or clothing? DS2 generally plays with DS1 toys and he loves what he's got so I would rather no more tat and something useful like clothing/shoes/slippers.

Wellies and waterproof suits (muddly puddles type) are great for the coming year and for getting out on an adventure.
