I am hopelessly out of touch, and feel sure that an 18 year old may not appreciate a John Lewis token as much as I would....

Top Shop.

ISingSoprano · 26/11/2012 13:16

Cinema

ObiWan · 26/11/2012 13:23

iTunes, or Amazon.

psychomum5 · 26/11/2012 13:39

going on my 18yr old daughter - topshop for clothing, boots for perfume or make up, River Island too for clothing, or maybe some cash inside a pretty make-up bag, so best of both world. You give her a small pressie and then she can maybe fill the make-up bag with make-up from where-ever she does buy it.

Or, a voucher for a local nail/beauty salon. My DDs would love that.

Boys....amazon, hmv, or maybe Top Man if he is clothing orientated.

Depends on what is on their high street - Republic maybe?

VenetiaLanyon · 26/11/2012 13:43

Thanks all, some good ideas here. She has an i-phone, so I'm assuming itunes might go down well.

Primark?

Jins · 26/11/2012 14:01

Itunes, Amazon or TK Maxx

Ummofumbridge · 26/11/2012 14:02

iTunes definitely. Or Topshop.
My DS always loves getting amazon vouchers.

beachyhead · 26/11/2012 14:23

Top shop

pecans · 26/11/2012 15:22

I do TopShop for dn. She's vv pleased!

milk · 26/11/2012 15:25

Amazon

YDdraigGoch · 26/11/2012 15:28

Last year I gave my DD (then 16) a gift card for Costa - she loved it! Took all her friends out for a treat, and felt terribly grown up.

I second (third?) Top Shop and iTunes. Also, New Look is popular round here - but it depends on what shops there are in her local High Street.

LaCiccolina · 26/11/2012 15:30

Asos topshop iTunes

girlywhirly · 26/11/2012 15:47

Pizza Express gift card?

middleagedspread · 26/11/2012 17:38

Hollister?
Jack Wills?
My teens aspire to those brands, but sadly rarely get them.

CMOTDibbler · 26/11/2012 17:41

My assorted teen nieces/nephews ask for Amazon, Itunes, Jack Wills, or Starbucks/Costa vouchers

cazza2878 · 26/11/2012 19:10

Love 2 shop - then they have loads of choices where to spend them.

msrisotto · 26/11/2012 19:12

iTunes or amazon

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/11/2012 19:37

I've got a 17 nearly 18 year old and this is what I think her reaction would be to the following -

Topshop - sheer ecstasy
Cinema - okay but nowhere near as good as Topshop
Amazon - okay
I-tunes - prob not v impressed but she'd spend it
Boots - she'd probably blow it at the Benefit counter or buy perfume
New Look - she got some last year and hasn't managed to spend them all yet as she doesn't like much in there
Hollister or JW - she'd probably try to sell them as she'd have no interest at all in them
Starbucks - she'd be very happy
HMV - pretty happy
Waterstones - happy
Primark - she'd probably give it to her sister, or buy PJs

Topshop deffo the best one!

Everythingwillbeok · 26/11/2012 22:21

Yes topshop or river island would go down well.

twolittledarlings · 26/11/2012 22:25

Do they live near a shopping mall?

I have to get vouchers for my friends dd16 and dd18. I asked their mother what vouchers to get them and she said as we all live near the Westfield shopping mall in stratford, they would prefer the vouchers for all the shops in there. There's over 275 shops to choose from. Westfield does their own gift cards.

VenetiaLanyon · 27/11/2012 09:05

Westfield would be a good idea; didn't realise that they did gift vouchers Smile

Love2shop isn't such a good choice for older teens. I always have to buy them off my DS as there's only River Island that would be of interest.

Luckily I can use them at Wilkos and the more middle aged retailers
