Does anyone know if these kits are any good? mymakedo.com/creative-play

I'm trying to think of a small for my creative ds who is 7. Has anyone ever bought one? They have good reviews on amazon.

I think they look like something people buy when they can't be arsed! Not being awful but what's the point? I have made tonnes of robots and cars and houses from boxes and never needed any special system to connect them.

Hi
I will first declare my interest here - I do the PR in the Uk for Makedo and so have stumbled across your conversation in that capacity. Whilst I appreciate your point MrsMushroom the benefits are that the kits help guide children to make certain things, e.g playhouses, shops, london buses and tubes - they have stickers etc to help, plus the connector system makes it really easy to do junk modelling and less mess - so yes, ideal for parents who can't be arsed...to clear up!!
We've set up many mummy bloggers with trial kits and have had nothing but good reviews. Makedo is also being reviewed and included in The Gadget Show's top toys for Xmas next week. They are a nice, not too expensive stocking filler that creative kids will love...but enough of the PR blurb from me ;-)

Making robots/cars/houses does not need to be messy just because you don't have special "fixtures".

We use sellotape. Not messy. We have fun decorating them afterwards with paint and pens....

Stopping children from having the freedom to decorate something creatively isn't a good idea. The video is good because it's not very gendered....there's a nice shot of a girl in a plane for instance.

I'm not being deliberately rude here...but don't most "Mummy Bloggers" give good reviews of things like this? That's kind of the point. Blogging as a parent gets you free stuff.

Saying something's shite won't bring in the free duplo will it!
